Where is everyone staying? Last 2 times I stayed in the IBIS at Wembley, but decided to stay further out this time - I can't tell you how depressing it was to be sharing a hotel full of jubilant Charlton fans
The definitive work on jinxes/curses was in the Valiant, Raven on the Wing when they had to get a 'wise woman to come and lift the hex from the ground/club. Undisputed fact!
Decided to drive down this time and stay on the outskirts. Did this a few years ago for an England game and was hassle free, rather than traipsing the kids across Central London Driving down to Elstree, taxi to Canon's Park then 20 mins on the tube down to Wembley. Then, if it DOES go well, we can hang around and get drunk. If the usual Sunderlandy thing happens, we can disappear and drown our sorrows in peace
I drove to Stainmore for the last play off game against Charlton and got the over/underground in to Westminster. It looks a decent place to stay to be fair and is only 4 stops from Wembley, that might be worth looking at mate.
Yeah, either Stanmore or Cannon's Park on the tube. Depends which is closer to the hotel in Elstree. Hotel is just off the A1 so can make a quick getaway on the Sunday morning My eldest (14) wants to do Trafalgar Square but I've said no. Not yet anyway
I generally stay at a friend's in West London and drive to a mile or so from the stadium and walk there.
Drove to Watford and commuted in from there last time. Stayed overnight. Won't do that again, it's a f*ckin ****hole! Thinking about Stanmore this time around. What's the pubs like around there?
Celebrating in Trafalgar Square before the big event - seems to be the biggest jinx of all. Wait till we win then Celebrate BIG STYLE
I only parked on someone’s drive and travelled in, but there looked to be loads of bars and restaurants
When we were young and daft we'd book the car into the nearest 'Kwikfit' to the ground and ask for a quote ... ... we'd turn up after the match, say 'too much' and leave
