United proving that Ten Hag doesn’t have that much control after all. Apparently he wanted to bring Steve McLaren back as an assistant coach but has been told not a chance.
I am just changing two letters in Ten Hag's name from now on to represent what utd fans are like. Tin Hat. You'd have to be weating a tin foil hat to this this guy is going to fix utd. Palace appointed a dutch manager. frank De boer who was manager of ajax for 6 years. He lasted 4 games! De boer won 4 dutch leagues in 6 years Tin hat has won 2 Dutch leagues in 4 years also. its hardly an achievement at ajax. My understanding of what has been said is utd have very specifically appointed a "first team coach" here. they are already telling him who he can and cannot have as his coaching team. next thing is to buy another heap of random "stars" on massive money. Is rangnick going to be DoF or appointing scouts and such now? tin hat. might only last 3 months.
Man city fixtures: Watford (H) (absolute gimmie) Real Madrid (H) Leeds (A) Real Madrid (A) Newcastle (H) We play Newcastle first and COULD go back top of the table and then Man city will have to go play Leeds who now have a defensive minded coach on board and at elland road. IMO this is the game with milk's bastarding jinxing ways will really **** us over. I'm convinced that leeds will implode right after milk makes a stupid comment out this #goingwell for us.
Even if that happens I still think we have some really tough fixtures Everton (derby game nuff said) Newcastle (away is the problem here - they are on a confidence high atm and will see us as a massive statement win) Tottenham (will not be easy by any stretch) In short it still very challenging for us But it would be a stunning win - but I just don’t see how city Drop points - earlier in season maybe but not now
TalkSPORT posed an intriguing question (for me)yesterday Which was were we to lose title by 1 point Lose in CL semi or final and lose to Chelsea Would this season be a failure for Liverpool?
tottenham are by far the hardest game. they are bascially set up with players to score off our high line. BTW. one draw and its not over. Plus 6 GD means that should we win 5 and draw 1. Then city would have to better us by 6 goals and have a record no worse than 5-0-1 At this point however i would say that 6 wins is more likely to generate a chance at the title as city would then need 5-1-0 record. the city game flow means theres just a couple of games where the draw might come. Theres many a year i can think of where something unusual happened. 1995 for example. utd missed 400 chances and ended up drawing 1-1. even though we beat blackburn. citys title win on last day with the mancs heads in hands. it was 2-2 v qpr in injury time and the man utd beat sunderland 1-0 to think they had it. there smore but they are all not so much fun. 1989, 1947 for us losing title on final day. city's matches are gimmies on any given weekend but with the bit of pressure and spot light you never ever know. but is VITAL to jinx them by saying they are #ironedon to win this and will win it in a canter. NEVER EVER express hope as they play that they might drop a point. #schoolboyerror
do you really pay attention to that sort of wumming at text bait? its borrowing trouble from an uncertain point in the future that only spoils your today.... and thats what the bitters and wums want to do. Just enjoy the run. Just doing this run is amazing stuff and its pure plasticky ****e to only equate success with the pot that they put no life into.
Nah not paying attention thought it was interestIng I think it’s been brill this season How could it not be ? But if we were to only win the LC I think it would be sad for how good this squad have been What they are doing is awesome just thought it was an interesting way of looking at things my big problem was the amount of grief I used to get from the local Utd fans but they have completely disappeared
This is why I did the poll when the transfer window shut. Most people just put us top 4 maybe. I wanted a domestic trophy and got one. I'm happy. Jimmy is the only lad who voted quadruple and yet I actually included it.
I wouldn’t say a failure. Only one team can win each competition. I think it would be disappointing at this stage to only come away with 1 trophy. The performance levels have been so good that I don’t think can say it’s a failure though. Anyone can lose a 1 off game which is all it takes in the cups. If we win all remaining league games and miss out by a point you just have to applaud city. We’d have won the last 17 out of 18 games (currently won last 11 of 12 with city draw)? And still lost the league, not sure can say that’s failure by anyones books. Especially as it would be the 2nd highest points total to not win the league I believe, only behind our 97 from couple years back. Given how last season panned out, I think this season has been a huge success in terms of performance but also squad building to ensure that we can cope with the rigours of multiple comps, making the team attractive to young players to join as well as players like diaz who are ready to step into first team. Above all else, been a joy to watch us at times this year and that’s all we really watch football for really isn’t it. Winning things is nice and gives a sudden buzz to the fan, but spending 90 minutes each week just enjoying what your seeing is better than what we have had to put up with previously and what other fans currently have to do. Sit there watch the team they support play **** and get angry for 90 minutes.
theres a massive difference between a genuine title race and finishing a distant 2nd almost by default. Last year: city cantered over the line without trying as the focused on CL final 86 points. utd spluttered over the line on 74 which is really only worth 4th sometimes this year: City will need to get get 95 points currently to be sure of the title We will need to get 94 to have a shot at it. theres a massive difference there in terms of performance and effort
I don't care what ANYONE says, you are no ****ing fan at all if you are not suffering through. No matter how bad it was at various stages i never missed a game. not one. Man utd fans are seeing thier team going 7th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 2nd, 6th, 3rd, 2nd, likely 5th/6th they won a league cup and europa league 5 years ago. Its pure arrogance to say thats terrible and they won't watch. from 1993 to 2000 We saw 1 league cup total, never missed a game. From 2008 to 2016 (G&H destruction) we got 1 league cup, never missed a game. Next time you hear a die hard plastic talk about not watching any more remind them how much of a DICKHEAD they are
Happens every year. Has happened already this year. Either Man City or Liverpool will drop points before the season over. If it's City, Liverpool could win the title. If Liverpool drop points, it's most likely irrelevant if City do. Statistically, it's unlikely we both win every game remaining.
I think the problem with United is cultural. Take their squad and some of their managers elsewhere and you'd expect trophies. I've read several articles about ETH being one tough no nonsense arsehole... And that's exactly what they need with the current culture of the club. He sounds like exactly the right manager to slap them all silly and get them performing how they should be capable of performing. I could be wrong, but I think he's unfortunately exactly what they need.
