But these types of performances seem to be more frequent. And tactical nous seems to be lacking on so many occasions
On the subject of playing squads, moving to five subs next season is going to be very interesting on that front. I can see some sides planning that change far better than others over the summer (and across next season), potentially leading to some surprising results.
Some shred of consistency would be nice and be a little bit more tactically aware. I'm not saying he should be sacked but we are far too hot and cold. We implode to easily and have done for quite a while. Fir some reason on this forum Ralph's untouchable and I can't see why.
Are they more frequent? Or are they just easier to remember than the ones in the past? We've regularly put in total shockers over the past, what, five years? The only thing that I see different this season is that maybe, at last, people will stop being fooled into thinking that we've finally turned a permanent corner when we go and do our usual three-wins-in-four and look a million dollars.
But it's the same for a lot of mid table clubs. We're far from the only club that do this. It's the nature of the league and having a smaller squad.
I think he deserves a crack under the new owners, we are a (much) better side than when he joined with a net support level of 0 from the clubs previous ownership (I mean zero because they haven’t not supported him, but equally he also hasn’t had much to work with in that time). He can’t afford to go backwards from this point though. That said he has got today very wrong.
Why would the be easier to remember It's frustrating because when we are on it we look fantastic. But look terrible pretty often
Very uncharacteristic of the Saints I’ve followed for over half a century, this; getting dicked by Burnley on a school night
Absolutely. He’s had a crap 90 minutes tonight. Wrong starting formation, too slow to change things around. Not helped by once again players not doing a lot of the basics, and at this level a 5% dip in performance will make all the difference. I still believe he’s a good manager though.

Just to clarify. I'm not in the Ralph out camp yet. Maybe he need some more tactical help from somewhere
Who cares? We are safe, Everton aren’t. Oh dear we will miss out on the “not got any money league trophy”. Gutted
Because they're fresher in the memory. Easy to remember this one when it's happening right now. I'm sure we'll all forgotten about some horror shows from the past. I can just about remember the appalling 3-0 defeat to Newcastle which got MP the sack, but I've forgotten how the goals went in or how many other chances Newcastle missed etc.
