Agreement, and an additional perception of Shota.

If I'm agreeing, how can it sound as if I'm disagreeing?

Because it reads as if you're explaining something to me that didn't need explaining.

Wasn't meant that way, don't see it myself so couldn't really anticipate that. Maybe I should have replied more generally instead of trying to pick out a thread within a thread. Maybe there's a bit of sensitivity at play?

No sensitivity here, just an observation of a number of your recent responses to me.

Not sure where to put this but just shows how well we did to stay up this season.

be interesting to see the same chart next season when we actually spend a bit of money and not peanuts.

Simple enough solution. I'll not bother trying to reinforce your position when we're in agreement then if it irritates you.

Also shows how well Blackpool and Luton have done, the old adage, you don't have to spend millions to achieve a certain amount of success, just about getting the right blend

You do tend to find that whilst teams overachieve and underachieve from time to time, it is virtually impossible to sustain high performance on a low budget season after season.

It's what makes Dyches achievement at Burnley remarkable and his sacking truly bizarre.

I don't expect Luton, Hudds etc to continue at this level over say 3 or 4 seasons on the budgets they have. Similar to Barnsley last season.

Yeah I think Luton will be down there next season (assuming they don't go up). Their squad will be stripped, manager will be poached and they'll do a Barnsley.

The vast majority of clubs aggregate out over a few seasons to more accurately reflect their available resources. I don't think any team or board would plan or expect to get promoted with a bottom 3 budget.

Agreed. This again reflects well on Grant McCann. Interesting also to know whether Derby have already dispensed with the players they spent so much money on or whether in reality, (for all their raging sense of injustice at being docked points for breaking the rules) they've still been operating with a relatively expensive squad.

If Bielik wasn’t such a sicknote, I’d be wanting us to poach him off Derby this summer. However, given his injuries, there are just more sensible and less expensive options.

I'm not sure Jones will leave Luton. I see it more like Howe at Bournemouth.

I think they might drop again and have to do a Portsmouth. Even with a new wealthy owner, they’ll need to get virtually a new team and stave off a points deduction.

Thing about Derby is, they’re furious with Mel Morris for putting them in the smelly stuff. I sympathise with them to an extent, but at the same time, were they complaining when the club spent £8 million on Bielik from Arsenal plus whatever wages they offered him?

It’s why I cringe when I hear us being linked with the likes of Babel and Özil. Yes, we need a better quality of players and that will cost money in terms of transfer fees and wages but I want it to be sensible and sustainable. I’m glad Acun has rubbished the Babel and Özil rumours.

Yeah, Bielik is supposed to be on more than £20k a week. Mental.
