Cristian o Ronaldo has announced the death of his newborn son.

Love him or hate him, there is nothing that can hurt more than this. Utterly devastating. Thoughts with his and his family.

Totally agree, the little fella was a twin as well. Can't imagine what the parents are going through. No amount of money will ease the pain. Rest in peace little one.

My sister born year after me died after a week or so.

One thing that I always remember is seeing my Dad sat silently crying if he ever saw anything that reminded him.

As others have said awful thing to happen and will never leave you!

Hasn't happened to me, but nearly did. Baby son got a brain virus at 3 weeks and was in a coma for the next four. Not nice.

Ronaldo and his family will be suffering, so God bless 'em and get them through it...

My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family at this devasting time.

My son was born asleep 22 years ago and stories like this bring it all back.

    Sweet dreams little one

Me neither, it's no more of a tragedy because of who's involved ...

... my thoughts certainly aren't with him any more than they'd be for anyone else.

I was going to post similar.
Be it a super rich celebrity or someone on the breadline (for want of a better word) the hurt, the loss and the tragedy of it is the same.

Neither are mine. If a singer dies or an ex player, the same type of thread is created. Yet nobody says anything like this. Strange that this thread is different.

It's not the same type of thread at all mate.

We may well have met the singer or player, actually know them, seen them perform countless times and virtually grown up with them.

This thread goes one step beyond and into personal grief, not the remembrance of someone we 'know' who's passed.

The words of the grieving father should be respected in my opinion.

"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time."

Public grieving seems to be compulsory these days and it's not quite right imo.

The thread was created to show sympathy for the grieving father. Not to hound him or anything.

I have met Ronaldo. I haven’t met most of the singers I’ve posted RIP to on here. So I will show my thoughts on here. I have the same sympathy for everyone who goes through anything as horrific.

Can't say it's a bad thing for people to offer their thoughts to a grieving father.

Yes I know he will never ever see the words on here, but it would be a strange message board if this news wasn't mentioned
