Mane started the season a bit rough, but he's carrying Salah atm. Should be the one to get a new contract. Salah just isn't involved in much play, can't get past a man, shots are poor.
I don't like people having a go at Salah. ( Not aimed at anyone in particular). I understand it's about money but let's not forget the absolutely incredible goals he's scored, some nothing short of miraculous and the ecstatic pleasure of just watching him and his massive contribution in this history making team. I promised myself after Torres left that I wouldn't get so attached to a player again but honestly, I think I'm way beyond that now. I don't ever want to take players for granted and that applies in bucketloads to Salah. While it's true that no player is bigger than the team, it takes individuals to make up that team and I will be gutted if he leaves sooner than he should. I hope he sacks his agent and stays with us for another 4 years
Honestly, I know I joke about the absurdity of his money demands but I don't really hold it against him. He would be earning that much at any of the other big clubs. I also won't hold it against him if he pushes us to the wall to sell him in the dying weeks of the transfer season. I don't hold it against Torres, or Owen (although I do hold other complaints against Owen).
Kevin de bruyne 400k per week. 14 goals 8 assists Ronaldo 500k per week. 21 goals 3 assists. Salah 200k a week 28 goals 11 assists. Personally I find people giving salah gip hilarious. He's tired. Mane has Diaz now to help him and his form has just got better as the legs get rested. Simple as. His contract demands are hardly out of line with the other top paid in the prem. Tomorrow night.... salah would be the 8th best paid player if cavani and varane were available. Ronaldo De gea Fernandes Rashford Sancho Pogba All far higher paid to get utd nowhere. One over the number and some near that 400k a week.
I'm looking at it like this - whatever Salah's demands are are between him and the club not him and the fans. His 'contract' with us is to play as well as he can and contribute to the team to achieve as much as is possible. He's fulfilling that contract with us and his overall contribution has been off the scale. We don't know what his demands actually are. In terms of holding things against players, I think the club needs to be careful how they handle this or we may be holding it against them.
That says more about United and City's approach to wages than ours. We cannot afford to start giving out contracts worth that much. If he wants it, there's a nice little group of finance-doping clubs who can afford to pay it at the expense of status, reputation and (for most) accolades.
Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Fred are all set to miss Manchester United's Premier League fixture at Liverpool. The trio missed the win over Norwich on Saturday. Varane and McTominay (foot) have been sidelined for the last two games and Fred has not recovered from a hip flexor problem he sustained at Everton. Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw are possibly out for the rest of the season and the depleted state of the midfield could force interim manager Ralf Rangnick to start Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
You say this like Salah doesn't get a rest, he does. Mane or Jota have played on the right a few times, he's getting as much rest as Mane.
In all honesty, he's not really playing badly, he's just not scoring goals. Mane got lots of stick for the same thing earlier in the season. As long as someone's scoring the goals, I don't care who.
Until very recently salah has been doing the 90mins. Now OK the league cup and fa cup both men got rests. But... what I am hoping is that salah will pick up his form like mane has due to the rests he has been given The benfica games were his first real rest since the world cup thing.
And mane got his rest.Plus didn't get an injury either so he has picked up a bit with Diaz input So hopefully the rest v benfica will get salah going.
You missed what I said... Mane was also playing 90mins every game until recently. Salah and Mane have played a similar amount. Aka your suggestion that Salah doesn't have someone to take his place isn't true, Mane and Jota have both played in the right. Bobby, Ox, Minamino and Milner can ask do it too to a lesser degree. Mane as found some form because his confidence is through the roof after recent exploits. Salah is the opposite.
Mané has the advantage of having come away from AFCON victorious with the extra momentum that brings. For Salah it was the opposite.
But there is absolutely no way any mentions are replacing salah. They are standing about in the same spot being useless. Did and mane is a wholeother level. Plus you missed me acknowledging you point on mane but then saying salah was actually injured and only really got a rest then. Mane might have played the world cup qualifiers but he was not injured at any point so he's been able to pick up the form nicely. I'm hoping salah can do likewise.
It's not about Mo, it's about LFC. Saying he'd get the money elsewhere is irrelevant. If he wants to stay he has to take the best he can negotiate, if the money is his priority and someone else will give it to him, so be it - he can go. Liverpool made Salah, not the other way round.
