There is room in the Amos Fan Club for all. In fact, you can join as second member and Vice-President if you'd like.
Didn't see the game today. I'm not a massive Amos fan, but he does seem to be getting that handy knack of scoring.
It is always good to win, whatever the circumstances. Even with a very strong finishing, I also fear that it may now be a “bridge too far”. But we can always hope!
I don’t know what those who watched it on screen felt, but, goal aside, he was pretty anonymous today. The whole game was odd, it had no feel that either team had much to play for, when of course both had faint but real chances of improving their season. I might have lost the sense of the way 4-4-2 is meant to work, but we were entirely dependent on full backs for our width. I thought there would be a wide man switching sides, but Chair was his usual self, close control sometimes making something of it, often not. I see others felt Dykes had a better game, and I’m sure that’s true, but from where I sit it wasn’t good, though he was trying hard. I remember one game earlier this year - I think you were there - when he looked like a proper number 9. It’s in there somewhere. Thomas is all heart and little else, but never hides. CBs did ok with little threat, mysteriously, from Derby apart from the last 20 minutes. Westwood …..well, beggars can’t be choosers. Just about value for the win, though a draw would not have been a travesty. Poor old Derby. From what I understand they now only have 5 players contracted for next season and could get more points deducted, takeover stalled because of confusion over who owns Pride Park, Burnley chasing Rooney (a much better fit for him than Everton at this stage)…..never rains but it pours, eh?
Dont mind Amos at all to be honest. Would pick him over Hendrick and Johanson every week at the moment. He looks our best chance of scoring of late
They've not even managed double figures yet. Definitely need a proven striker next season who knows where the net is. Top of the shopping list.
Just think there's too many others chasing 6th, but it would be nice to go into that game with a sniff.
Makes it even more irritating that they have changed it from the Saturday to the Friday, for last home game of the season.
Think we played 4 2 3 1 like at Huddersfield. But whatever,9 the backs were giving us a lot of our width plus Chair left of the 3 and Amos occasionally on the right.
