Once the best youngster in years, now not worth his place in top team, a classic problem. Mount has one part of his game stitched up, enthusiasm and energy. It only it cancelled his faults. He can't score, like Pulisic, he's the "almost Man" almost scored, almost got there, almost made a great pass, but he never does. Game after game he falls short.
Right now he's not worth his place because he nevert makes anything happen, and unlike Lampard, he can't make it happen. Pointless being able to get into the right position then fluffing the shot. Again and again. Just not good enough at this level. Foden is from the same background, except he scores.Regularly. No contest. Mount is just not good enough. Hugely disappointing flaws in his abilities at PL level.

Pulisic, even worse, at least Mount tries, Pulisic is a whimp, always on his arse, always whining, misses more than he scores and is another show pony. Neither are improving and neither on this form are good enough to be regulars in a top team.If Chelsea are serious, both need to go.

I don't think he was as ever as great as the media were making out and that's part of the problem. When you have unrealistic expectations of a player that doesn't match their ability this is the end result.

Mount is a good player on his day but he's not in the same tier as Reece James IMO.

Watched him closely tonight against Luton, have to say he tried hard and did some good work in a pretty unbalanced team. Commentator pointed out he was still not totally recovered from recent injury. If so, and given his run of Covid and injuries over the season, maybe I need to cut him some slack. He won't be a worldbeater until he starts scoring those fluffed chances.

    Sir Mason Mount

    Prem goals 10
    Prem assists 8

Carried us through December when we lost Reece Chilwell and had multiple covid outbreaks

If he scores 10 Prem goals for us every season, he will have a fabulous Chelsea career

He was absolutely brilliant last night.

And has the most goals and assists for an Englishman this season in a Chelsea shirt in one season since Sir Frank himself

Mason Mount (20 goals & 21 assists) is one of just two Englishmen to both score 20+ goals and provide 20+ assists for a Premier League side in all competitions since the start of last season alongside Harry Kane.

Great stats, and he's back in the form he was lacking for a few weeks. Credit to him.

Players aren't robots. They lose form. No need for kneejerk reactions. Leave that to the tabloids and talk show hosts

For Gods sake, stop talking crap. Mount has been in dreadful form and needed to be called out. Now he's back, good. Stop talking about ****ing tabloids, don't you get it?? You might have" tabloids" in the UK, most of the world doesn't.. Some posters actually have original ideas and opinions, but that never seems to occur to you. You always suggest opinions not the same as yours are simply repeating the "tabloids" or "talk show hosts" . We don't have football talk shows either.
Try and get your head around this, once and for all. My opinions are mine, not yours, not "talk show hosts" not "tabloids". Got it ??
How about some original thoughts from you??
Can't recall ever reading one. You are are a seriously bad thinker.

I think if you read the post again you will see he wasn't suggesting that people were taking their views from talk shows etc, but some were reacting like them by judging players on a patch of poor form.

This is not the first time this bloke resorts to "tabloid calling" as a put down, otherwise I'd not get so wound up. Anyway, Iv'e hopefully made my pointed we can just enjoy the game.

Back on topic, Mount has recently shown that he is one of the best players in Europe and credit must go to Tuchel who has recognised his dip in form and rested him quite a few times so he could regain his hunger and desire. We will se a lot more of his talent as his decision making and positional sense matures.

He has also had a couple of brushes with covid, and played an awful lot of games.I’m amazed that Rudi has kept his form so well, he never seems to get a day off. Pity Pulisic is so inconsistent, he isn’t pulling his weight for me so mount & Havertz are doing lots more work.I think Tuchel is the most savvy Manager we've had, smart and personable and looks after all the players. Hope the new owners realise what a gem we have and ease his workload a bit, he really puts in.

Todays performance was good but could have been better and the loss of Kova early on did not help. Mount is a monster when played in the correct formation. Jorghinho is an ante' Mount. When you need a forward pass Kova and Kante' and RLC will provide. Yes I know Jorginho has a very impressive CV but I fear it has been boosted by the teams that he has had to perform with. Dave sad to say has had his day and will need to get himself ready for a coaching role. Yes I said it and TT knows this as well we all do really. Carefree!

Through this season we are seeing quite a few players who need moving on for one reason or another. Jorghino has had his moments but is not the driving force we need in midfield, Christensen and Pulisic have both shown frailty when strength is needed. Lukaku is just a fish out of water, overwhelmed by the size of his job and completely the wrong fit. Werner, RLC and Kovacic have all shown they have what we need with their persistence and effort, and Havertz has grown into his role. Time has caught up with Dave, who remains one of our best ever, and Alonso keeps on surprising when he is written off. We have a load of talent in Broja, Gallagher, Levi, Bate,Chalobha and Gilmour plus Sarr and no doubt others, all ready or close to first team standard, Mount and James already there. Get the stuff off the field sorted and a couple of new faces in, and watch out City and Liverpool.

Yes, he carried us in December when we lost form and got tired. MOM against Saints, Real (along with Reece) and Palace.

Playing at a high level in big games (Real and City last season). Just don't know what people expect. He's played so much high intensity football in past two years. I think TT is clever enough not to burn him out

Most goals and assists out of any midfielder in Prem this season. Numero uno.

if this is a bad season for Mount, I am looking forward to a good one?

Yep, I think Pulisic lacks heart. He needs to find some bottle to get a regular place under TT.

Christensen I thought he was the same, lacked bottle, but TT seemed to improve him (see CL final). Maybe Vincius was too good for him and his mind is elsewhere.

He could do v well at Barca

My feelings are Pulisic plays his best when the team is flying, but often goes missing when the going gets tough. That's maybe harsh on him and not meant to say he's not a fighter. He just seems to need others around him playing well to do so himself. Christensen is in need of a move. He's changed advisors, been about to sign, then backed away, now his move is in doubt due to a drop in his form. He's young, talented and experienced, but he's not quite quick enough for our style at the moment. His brain must be muddled with so many things going on with him.Wish him well.

In my opinion, overall, Mason Mount is getting better with every game in terms of positional sense and awareness as is Rees James. Good news for the England national side as well as for Chelsea. The pair were certainly too much for Palace to handle on Sunday in the FA Cup semi final.

CP you need to read your opening statement and amend the parts that you likened Mount to Pulisic, big mistake massive. and, Mount has more goals and assists than Foden.
