i got a yellow card for quoting kenny everett's usa army general. you know the one. last three words in this:
The algorithms that moderate Twitter can be irritating, but they’re nothing compared to the rules and utterly ridiculous auto moderation of Amazon. Their systems simply don’t work and instead of fixing them, they just remove products daily for absolutely no reason.
It's true, my recent upload of a shirt, stating that it was the dogs bollocks and even fat ****s would look good in it, was removed for no goods reason.
Not quite sure what you mean by any of that as I’m on it perfectly happily, but I thought he wanted to buy it to stop people laughing at him on it.
and amazons search engine must be the worst on the net. ive only started using twitter since the conflict started. i think most people who post on it are bankers, phonetically speaking of course, but admit it is a good source for news, a lot of it is repeated and you cant believe everything you see and read. so sometimes its not real news.
The major social media platforms are all moderated by algorithms that are decided primarily in America and they don’t seem to appreciate that words and phrases mean different things in different countries.
For FAcebook….Only partially true….there is still an army of human moderators - The consultancy company Accenture has the main global contract. Their staff are spread around for local insight, our nearest is in Dublin (well Clonee just outside Dublin) Poland & India have massive massive centres. It’s worth between 500m - 1bn a year. FB are a client of mine, I wish I could charge them that much lol https://thehustle.co/09072021-facebook-accenture-moderation/
