He's steadied the ship, tweaking the system, got vital points on board to hopefully keep us where we need to be......and does what most yanks do talks a lot (as I've said dad was one) and people are slagging him off, what did he say that probably wasn't right? The players looked drained a couple of months ago ffs.....let the guy at least have a pre season with some new additions and see how he fares.....keep us up Jesse and you can shoot from the hip anytime you like for me
My comment above this mate in regards to your Pep quote… We still mainly have that Championship squad, without the fitness levels demanded by Bielsa I fear 50% of our players can’t match the majority of opposing teams and players for skill or ability. Bamford will become bang average if we don’t need him to do that other stuff
There is a saying, give someone enough rope and they will hang themselves, if we beat Man City and Chelsea then ok he can say all the verbals he wants but for me he hasn’t proved anything yet
For me Bielsa was brilliant but unfortunately this season injuries killed an average squad. We have a new guy who deserves a chance but has played none of the top teams yet. Somebody on here the other day did a like for like between Bielsa and Marsch against the same teams, and Bielsa got 9 points with Marsch 10 points. So yes he has his own style, his own ways and does talk a lot but he needs to finish the season with us still in the prem. he needs a full pre-season and lets have a look at what his squad looks like in a couple of months. I cling to the fact that JM may be a potential great coach. Back to back league and couple doubles in USA with record number of goals and points. Then back to back league and cup doubles in Austria. Not a shabby record and I know not top leagues, but we live in hope
Hey up Clint Eastwood's in town! Didn't citeh round us up and take a Gatling gun to us last time with general bielsa in charge.......keep it below seven and he's on an uptick
some fair points and clarifications Rich. Just a few points: 1. The players will be plenty fit under marsch. We were not the only fit team in the premier league. The guys who aren’t shot to pieces will still work their socks off. 2. I think marsch is doing media work because he’s asked to. He comes across as smart and personable. Radz is a pr guy. They’ll have a media team wanting him out there. I’m not saying he’s a mouthpiece and not his own guy… but there’s a case this is classic pr strategy. New guy comes in… full of respect for old loved previous manager. Allow a period of mourning. Wait until a few favourable results make the decision look like a good one. Choose this moment to add clarity as to why the decision was deemed necessary. 3. On fitness methods. Bielsa tracked fitness and fat % religiously. Distance covered in a game reflects general fitness and effort. It doesn’t track sharpness, stress levels etc. Bielsa was top down management on player conditioning. His ideas, not necessarily those advocated by top sport scientists. Not necessarily agreed with by those employed at the club who wanted to keep their jobs. I do actually have some information on his methods from a reliable source.
