Cash will come up against Romero in the World Cup.

    Pray Romero fancies “Romero-ing” him.

I haven't seen the Young incident although judging by the reaction on here it was an appalling tackle.

    Can someone post a clip?

It was one of those that used to be called 'professional fouls'. Hogbjerg did one at our end where he just put his hand on the guys shoulder, which of course has the same effect as being shot by a rifle. Got a yellow. A bit weak but those tend to be given. Young was a physical assault and could easily [shudder] damaged Kane's ankle. Did get a yellow for it, but the two incidents are hardly comparable.

Youngs assault on Kane was deliberate foul play and warranted a red card. It was a very dangerous kick.

for goal #4 (will check whatever highlights are
    added from here on) .

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, the World cup is not till November. He'll be back by August I'd have thought.

The best that I can find is this compilation of Villa "tackles" from reddit:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/coys/comments/u184e5/some_of_aston_villas_tactics/

Not great footage of Young's one, I'm afraid. Still obviously high, late and nasty.
That and the Ings one Reguilon were their cards, if anyone's wondering.
How Douglas Luiz avoided one for taking a swing at Emerson is beyond me, to be honest.

    Graham Scott is woeful.

Goodness you're right! Can't get my head round the next world cup (the one with the date that even the bribed federations didn't vote for) being in winter. My brain was assuming summer when I wrote that!

OK, yeah I got that wrong too. Just pick on the old person. I meant to say "In the unlikely event that the Republic had qualified...". I will try and make less mistakes in future. [Go on, I dare you.]

Contrast those challenges with this red for Nice's Dante yesterday:
    https://streamja.com/NVby5

He ticks too many boxes by doing a scissor tackle from behind, but it's far less aggressive.
And a reminder that Scott was the first ref to fail to overturn a decision after VAR asked him to.
What was the decision? Brighton scoring against us after a clear foul:

French pundits literally laughing at him.

Well, seeing that you're asking very politely, I would say "fewer mistakes"...:emoticon-0136-giggl

    That mistake was actually deliberate.

Deliberate and brutal tactics. There could and maybe should have been 4 red cards there. We are lucky to have only lost Doherty.
The club should report the referee. (They won't). Missing one of those two footed assaults could be excused, but not acting appropriately for that many suggests either total incompetence or considered deisions. Either option makes him unsuitable to officiate at any level.

Interesting comment by Crooks in his list of of weekend scorers about Dean, the career cockerel killer (his life's work was slaughtering chickens). "[Sending off] is a habit Dean has repeated more than any other Premier League referee but, more importantly, it destroyed what was an excellent football match."

And yet when Kane wasn't sent off against Liverpool, the sun stopped in the heavens. The BBC carried an article from an official criticizing the decision. This against a club which hadn't had a player sent off for 20 months.

Then, a few games later, Mane wasn't sent off when, like Kane, he had a debatably red card-worthy foul early in the match of the day. You could hear the crickets.

They were also to be heard concerning Spurs losing four points in two games to demonstrable refereeing errors (a Henry level handball for a goal by Mane; and a preposterously wrong offside decision against Kane). So an enormous furor over a normal ruling managed to completely obscure two appalling rulings which cost the same club points in consecutive (IIRC) matches.

Taken together, it's a mockery of fair play.

Good thing I still have my sunny disposition.
