Verstappen at it again. Lost all composure throws it about and somehow takes poll.

    Sainz sadly nowhere.

Pole for le clerc. Pole pole pole. Nice.

Great lap from LeClerc, Sainz very unlucky I felt.

McLaren excellent session- 4th and 7th.

Alonso was the one to take out of it- what a lap he was on! Such a shame he couldn’t finish that lap and hope to see him and Alpine continuing their improvement.

George is bloody impressive for sure.

But you NEVER write Hamilton off. And he never comes on stronger than when he is being pushed.

Imagine if Hamilton and Russel had a car as balanced as the Ferrari and RBR. Boy.. what a season we would have on our hands.

I think this is a good season for Mercedes to build rapport between drivers, even if everything else ends up being a write-off. George and Lewis need to work together to get the most out of that car, they aren't immediately pitched into a title fight.

They'll still kind of have to fight each other, they just aren't looking like they'll do it at the front. That car looks a proper handful.

He's got one hell of a teammate.... It's going to be hard to climb that hill.

Sure they'll want to beat each other on track, but it's more important to both of them that they get to the front than finish 5th rather than 6th. Not sharing data, setups, etc, just isn't going to happen.

I've never seen a team where driver rapport meant anything but dominant and submissive.

Drivers should hate each other and fight like dogs for everything

Yeah, the plus side is they'll be more open to work together to progress the car I imagine. But Russell is still going to want to prove his potential and Hamilton show he's not on the decline... Always weird dynamics with teammates.

Err isn't that the team lead and engineers job.

Drivers are attack dogs not strategists. Hamilton had to be in front of Russell here cos last two Russell was better. Start a trend of being at the back foot and the team soon starts putting you in second seat.

Naaah. We want a full competitive grid, with the best all battling it out. It very rarely happens. When it does tho...

I'd be happy to see alpine push on here and a good battle for 3rd to 6th.

What we really dont want is 2 fighting for everything and two rear gunners then another massive gap.

Imagine.... Max, Perez, Charlie, Sainz, Hamilton and Russell all able to compete for wins... Then throw in Alonso, and possibly the Macca pair... Wow!

Atm.. I'll just enjoy some Ferrari fun, but I can dream.
