Potentially at some point he could be mini Bobby, as a false 9 if you like. But as a kid it's lw looking to play that and develop. It'll be interesting to see what the play is for mane who is now playing no 9 as its serious competition there for a kid to come to. That's why it's all about work and ambition and attitude. Klopp will get him chances if he's deserving them. At 5 or 7 mil we shouldn't lose here. Only a stinking attitude would prevent us from selling for profit. I am surprised we are not loaning him back for another Fulham season. I'm sure they'd love to put their funds to other areas for the season and play him and mitrovic
I think it's a belt and braces thing. I think we bought Diaz as a precaution against losing either Mo or Mané, rather than wait until we're short then having to panic buy at premium rates. Planning ahead - that thing that people say we never do. If we don't lose either then we have a ridiculously strong squad compared with anyone other than the oil clubs, but success on the field and good financial policies off it mean we are in a better position to maintain it than we've been since the PL's inception.
We were tracking Diaz. He was #onthelist it was just that he wasn't meant to be bought til the summer Spurs did us a massive massive favour by trying to get into her first. I think in general this needs to be a major lesson for fsg and ward in future. Now is now. To complete you need the squad and adding that one genuine option has made this effort possible. It was massive that we bought jota and thaigo on the never never as well. The squad build is at a level. They need to maintain and rotate now. It'd be sad if we go back to having 3 forwards and no cover in 18months time
I think its quite safe to say that at no point after the initial rumours did we ever regret not signing him
Liverpool are 'accelerating' their plans to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma. That's according to Spanish outlet El Nacional, who say the 25-year-old is 'wanted' by Jurgen Klopp and that the Reds have already been in touch with his agent.
has anyone notice this guys name was never mentioned until villareal beat bayern 1-0. we would play them in the semi final.
I think theres a very good chance that we NEED to lose them, or at least one. time waits for no man and i feel the midfield is very much similar. We need higher intensity and that means getting lads like elliott up to speed. I do feel he was exposed by teams in the CL tactically a bit and he hasn't get the same fitness levels so need a good preseason.
I see no reason to be afraid of that, but then I obviously know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes. I don't think Mané is unhappy, and Mo just has people in his ear telling him he's worth it all the time. What I do think is that the way we play up front is changing generally. As Firmino's influence wanes it's becoming even more obvious how crucial his role has been in our success. If we can't find someone to play his part we'll have to take a different approach anyway.
Genuinely wasn’t saying I was scared I actually think there is a good chance it will happen that’s all I think we should change our approach totally and keep the oppo on their toes and I think that your point over Firm is a massive one I absolutely trust Klopp and his team - I just wish he was staying a bit longer as this era has flown by
Liverpool are ‘ready to battle’ for the signature of Torino ace Gleison Bremer after a report revealed why Man Utd were ‘scared off’. The centre-half, 25, has been one of the standout defenders in Serie A this season. Bremer has started all but two of Torino’s league matches this season, missing out through an ankle injury and yellow card suspension respectively.
Our formation when they had the bacll was either 11 back or actiuall this ..........Matip VVD Trent .................robertson Salah.........................mane Henderson Fabinho Thiago ..............Jota comepltey counter to what you'd think form past. The forwards simply were not pressing. henderson was. salah was parked trying to simply cut a lone of moving very little. that says to me the game plan or personnel has to change. I think we've exhausted every scrap out of mane and salah, this season thery have to be burned out. the days of full backs pushed right up and 4 men pressing high so the midfield two could then sit goal side are gone. In effect city had the run on us anytime a passing lane opened. now maybe we are chasing the game somewhat but it looked to me henderson was told to go run himself out doing salah's job and then on comes ketia and does similar. there were 2 or 3 changes after 5-10 mins of that second half where our forwards couldn't get the run to finish as it wasn't there. City ran us all day up top. foden was quicker than trent or matip and caused real issues. we never got goal side of kdb and cost ourselves 3 yellow cards just not being aware of him and then rushing at a ball and having to chase him. I think this will be the last hurrah of this side and we will need to change both system and personnel a bit. its a great hurrah though. midfield intensity is key next and we need to evolve off this offside trap stuff.
I don't see us buying any CB's this summer. We've got 4, none are out of contract this summer and we've got 2 spare that will probably be sold in Phillips and Williams. I see us diverting some of the funds to pay for Salah's contract. In terms of buys we'll be looking at CMs. (Milner will either retire or leave for Leeds)
"Battle" for a signature. Journos do love to try and manufacture a drama over the most mundane of things. "Compete" is about the most belligerent word appropriate for this - even if it were true, which it probably isn't.
