    Fair comment, mate.

Yes, he’s made some poor judgements and the others you have mentioned may get us a bit further but l just can’t see us going anywhere too soon unless the owners are prepared to back the manager with some investment along the way.

Where we stood at Xmas, should of been backed with more funds. I’m not aware we were. The manager got us in the position but the owners didn’t back him at such a crucial time moving forward.

Anyway, just my two bobs worth.

Tough one. I don’t much see what there is to gain from dismissing him now. I’d personally leave him there until 10-ish games into next season, assuming he’s given reasonable support to make reasonable changes. This coming from somebody that would have sacked him prior to the January 2021 window that reversed his fortunes.

We don't know that Beth. When I've heard him talk he's said that his aim is to improve on the previous seasons finishing position, we don't know if that's what the boards remit was. Definitely to bring through some of the younger players and maybe play a certain style but we have no idea what the hierarchy said to him about finishing positions. Have we improved this season or not ? Up until January we would all probably have said yes because of results, but the performances weren't great even when we were eeking out victories. Since January we have steadily been getting worse and worse, whatever the reasons it's been grim to witness. Whether something has happened behind the scenes with him and the board, only they know. Possibly over January signings, but I've said plenty on that subject already. I just want the best candidate in charge of our team and I don't believe that if we want to progress and become a regular Premier league team that Warburton is that man.

This is the crux of it I'm afraid, it's balancing ambition with staying solvent and not becoming a Derby. I don't expect us to break FFP again and know we're walking a tightrope but when your in a position like we were 2 points off 2nd with a game in hand then you need to do more than bring in a ****ter who couldn't get into Bruce's disastrous Newcastle side and a loanee defender who isn't improving the back line at all in my eyes. We know who I wanted and indeed Warburton wanted but that's by the wayside, more was needed and the board have to take culpability for that. However did Warburton make the most of what he had ? Afcon cost us 3 players although 1 is just a backup player at best, yet during their absence our form was actually good. It's since they returned that Warburton has really lost the plot, chopping and changing, playing players out of position, draining others of all confidence and spouting endless **** about Physicality and poor decisions from officials all the time. The pressure has built and he has crumbled under it, just like it did when he was at Rangers and let's not forget he was on at Forest for a few months. If the board sat down after the Peterborough game to discuss his future, then results since then aren't gonna have changed their views.

Yes, l supported the team for 50 years but if Sherwood was ever appointed, l would have to question myself. Hopefully, sanity will prevail.

In the year 2021 plus January 22 we were one of the top 2 or 3 Clubs in the Championship on a low Championship budget with Warburton at the helm. The idea of sacking him now is total nonsense.

Over the last 2 months we've lost our best playmaker to injury, our best GK plus 3 others, Dykes for weeks, as well as big losses in the form of Chair on return from the Afcon, to Johansen and Austin to age, ill health, injury or personal stuff we don't really know about, and we weren't able to bring in the attacking back-up Warburton wanted January due to the Budget. All on a small limited squad. I doubt we can find a better replacement we can afford. I hope and expect him to continue the improvements he has made the last 3 seasons despite the huge turnover of our best players due to the finances. Without Willock and so much loss of form we'll need a big change in fortune from yesterday at least, to make the play-offs this season. But with the present Management we have every chance next season, if we do fall short this.

Why doesn’t anyone else go for Sherwood? Is he literally just sat (in a gilet) waiting for the QPR job?

Well Dave Mac has said that Warburton isn't getting sacked and reports are inaccurate, so it looks like we've still got him for now. Who'd have thought it the Daily Mail and inaccurate reporting , I'm sure we've been down this road before somewhere !

No smoke without fire. The fact it’s being discussed is never a good thing for a manager.

Last seasons late charge set the optimism for this season, so finding ourselves, previously in the play offs, actually didnt come as too much of a suprise to me. I also dont buy into this 'punching above our weight' malarky. We have actually made some very shrewd purchases and have players that other clubs will definately be looking at in the summer.
Improvement each season is a must in my opinion. Ambition is also a must, otherwise whats the ****ing point in it all.
I have praised Warburton earlier in the season so i feel at ease being able to criticise when necessary. He has made some complete and utter **** ups these past couple of months. Firstly playing with no striker, was nothing short of madness, secondly, shuffling the whole back 3 to accomodate one player was naive at best. Toying with the formation after each poor performance another **** up. The needless signing of Hendrick and totally demoralizing the competition for central midfield another. I remember a relative of mine up in Glasgow saying 'Warburton only has one plan and if that goes tits up, he comes undone'. How true that seems to be.
The thing is, i actually like the guy. Like how he set us up in the first half of the season. Playing two no.10s was brilliant in my eyes. Guaranteed a goal every game.
He then moved our most creative talent to left wing back as a bloody experiment. I really cant fathom whether hes just stupid, desperate or limited.

Agree with all of this too.
I don't think he's stupid at all, but I do believe he is incredibly stubborn and doesn't take criticism well.

Can't see him taking us forward now and I suspect some of the players feel that way too.
