… it’s the number of teams in it that helps us a bit Jammy… they can’t all Win their ‘winnable’ games as they play each other - but the gap will close up.
Last time we won a ' must win ' game was against Bristol Rovers in L1. Even then we tried to feck it up by having a man sent off and going behind. Just not sure we'll hold our nerve if it goes to the final day as the recurring evidence suggests otherwise.
Based upon Burnleys average points per games, they will finish the season on 28 points, end of. Norwich gone and ddeffo no chance of reaching 30 points. The best Watford can do based upon their average is another 5 points which gives them 35. Our average would get us to 36 points. Everton are in big trouble and losing again and may yet get dragged in. Jesse Marsch points per game average is better than the 0.97 per game its 1.4 which would get us another 9 points so 39 points and well clear
After the billionaires got drubbed yesterday who's to say we are not capable of getting something from the match, we woz robbed at stumpford bridge after all..... reason to be cheerful at least one of the three
as the fixtures show Doc... burnley's average points comes from playing more good sides and less poor sides - so it's not a reflective average. I agree they don't look like a side likely to go on a 4 match winning streak... but still, both watford and burnley have fixtures that could get drag them close enough for things to get nervy for us.
If you’d have went by averages three games ago ours would not be good, the same was being said about Newcastle is December. A huge turning point for us was West Ham not just for ourselves but in demoralising those around us. The same effect would be felt if we lost to Watford, it can change far too quickly, we need to get the job done before Brentford on the final day. Burnley play Watford, Norwich and Everton that could easily be 9 points
The thing with average points per game they are true facts and spread over the season. Pointless basing them based upon who has a harder or easier remaining games. Everton being beaten by WHU today but we beat them so so swings and roundabouts. We have points on the board and move further away from Everton and Watford.
