Anti football mate. In this league it happens a lot at our place. We need to be better prepared for it no doubt. Instead of faffing around with offside rules the authorities would be better off tackling time wasting at all levels. If you loom at the amount of 90 mins actually has the ball in play is staggering. I dont mind teams playing a defensive system at all, but when they con people out of their money by time wasting it needs sorting

It didn't and we aren't though, I'll just enjoy the important win and not simulate the feelings of a loss or draw by thinking about a scenario that didn't happen. Would rather be happy, there'll be plenty of opportunity for feeling genuinely disappointed after a match in the future I'm sure

Well I’m happy with the 3 points. Wasn’t the best performance wasn’t the worst. As I said before the game it’s all about the points, we managed to get them and deservedly so in my book. We now move on to a massive game next weekend and hopefully another win. Keep the faith lads and lasses.

But that's not luck imo, that's one team being more switched on than the other and taking advantage?

A football game is 90+ minutes long, I don't really see how scoring in the last minute is more lucky than scoring in e.g. the 50th, just my opinion though.

    Enjoy the win! <cheers>

Just had a look on the Gills forum. The armchair fans really don't like us. The fans that were there have been very complimentary about the fans, area, pubs and stadium. One bloke that was there said Sunderland deserved the win versus an armchair fan that said he hoped us and for some reason Sheffield Wednesday stayed in leauge one for years to come. Odd. Anyway. 1-0.

3 points in the bag, job done and with some favourable results in other games we find our fate back in our own hands.

I'd guess that Gillingham wasted around 30 minutes of the game.

The new man is no better than Steve Evans tbh.

I'd be happy if they folded, useless club.

like most i know very little about AN, besides i tend to form a view of their time with us rather than time at other clubs with different players etc.

so far, what i have seen is a tighter defence and i think we all agree it needed sorting.

secondly, i have seen a more improved playing style akin to our early season way of playing.

third and continuing from #2, we are passing the ball around better rather than the percentage type balls he began with.

now i am not saying he has 'cracked it', far from it, but there are improvements and i am sure we can all see the main area now to improve is in getting the ball in the opponents net and finding a way to do that effectively, without weakening our defence.

i am liking the man and what he is doing, i also believe if the keano fiasco had not raised it's head AN would have been the initial choice...i honestly hope he gets at the very least a full season regardless of where we finish this one as he came in with few games left to try to change things, it would be good to see what he can do with a full pre-season.

    Morning after the game before...

    3 points, a win..right at the knocking..

It seems if Stewart is not scoring we are struggling, let's hope Broadhead is fit for the next game. Just have to get a better cutting scoring edge... lots of possession and shots today but not too many on target hit with venom

Another clean sheet which means all we have to do is nick one goal, even in the 5th minute of extra time!

Its up to us to play better and find a cutting edge.

Get to the byline for cut backs..

Pass around at the back tempt them forward and hit one over the top..

Allow them forward, then hit back on the counter attack

Have Neil and Pritchard on the pitch!

Good point, the odd piledriver would welcome. We don't seem to see many unless we watch L1 on Quest. <laugh>

All about the points in the position we find ourselves in, he’s obviously shored the defence up which gives me confidence going up against the teams in and around us. We just have to accept teams are going to come here and sit deep and try and pinch something, I thought our final ball at times yesterday was aimless. The one quality ball in and we finish it, we have some real talent who look reluctant to shoot, it’s frustrating to watch.

There was a bloke doing the in out in out up and down the south stand exit block, kept standing in front of people trying to watch. He gave up on the 94th minute after one of our attacks ended up nothing and left. Like i said yesterday, people pay so leave when they want, or may have to leave before a certain time and I respect that, but to leave to squeeze in an extra 2 minutes drinking time when the game is level, after all of our possession and still in with a chance to win really boggles my mind. Fair enough, 3-0 down heading into that 90, but it was there to be won. We've scored 7 times after the 82nd minute since AN came in I believe.
