Got to admit to a certain amount of bias but, the teams around us in the relegation battle should not be gaining any points this weekend so a win for us would be “splendiferous”
Everton and Burnley go against each other next Wednesday whilst I suppose a draw would be good for us
I wouldn’t say no to a Burnley win tho’
Up yours Lampard yer fat git

    Jessie Marsch ...
"In 2016-17 in the winter Ralph was kind enough to allow me to join his staff for six or seven weeks," said the Leeds boss.

"He is an incredible human being. That is the first thing that needs to be said.

"He is a really good person that cares about the environments he creates. Then he is a sharp, intelligent manager. He believes in a lot of the same principles as me. I learned a lot from that time I spent with him. It may help me prepare now, but i look back on it as helpful and special time."

Almost makes you want us to win don’t it

    Presser in a nutshell....

No current covid cases in the squad. Fingers crossed that stays the same. Raphinha fine to play.

Injuries are Bamford, Shackleton, Roberts, Firpo, Hjelde. Shackleton and Hjelde back in training but not ready. Roberts op went well but will be out until next season. Firpo getting close and is ahead of schedule. Bamford is 6 weeks, is in less pain than he has been for a while and a rupture will actually help him to recover fully instead of managing the situation week to week. Might be available for last two games.

Cooper and Phillips ready to start but prolly won't do the full 90. Unlikely to start both due to this.

International break was good for us to work on tactics specifically with Dan James, Rodrigo, Klich, Joffy in one to one situations. Greenwood impressed Marsch against Wolves.

Aims to use Joffy alot more but was injured for the Wolves game which was frustrating.

Rapha deserves to play at the very top level but is focused on helping the team currently.

First team beat the 23's 10-2 in a 45 minute game this week with Phillips and Cooper doing full 45 mins. Raphinha and Joffy excelled as the front four destroyed the 23's defence time and time again.

"The Saints started 2022 in fine form, recording 4 wins, 2 draws and one defeat. They also progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, beating Swansea, Coventry and West Ham. Unfortunately, they have had a March to forget."

I'm hoping we don't have a Marsch to forget in April.

If there's any team you'd want to be playing at this time it's us. We've gone from playing some of the best football I've seen from Saints to some of the worst and although we played quite well against City in the Cup still managed to get beat 1-4.
So, unless there's a real change to how we approach this game I can only see a Leeds win.

I've never seen Saints lose at ER mainly because I've only been once, so I class it as one of our lucky grounds. Back in 2012, 0-1 to Saints in "The Siege of Elland Road" as we call it, scored against the run of play and defended for the rest of the match. Considering some of the maulings we've had at Leeds over the years we struck lucky with that one. Hoping for the same but expecting to get smashed.

And any team that’s on a poor run would want to be playing Leeds. We have a proud record of bringing poor runs to an end.

Your team will always have that 'iffy' tag whilst you play Stuart Armstrong. Strong going forward, but generally totally uninterested in tackling back. Fine (almost) for a CF, but for a midfielder it's shocking. Does exactly the same in a Scotland shirt. Grrr. Such talent thrown away.

I thought it was only us that did that. Bringing poor runs to an end or a player who hasn't scored for ages.
When we played Palace at the beginning of the season Jordan Ayew hadn't scored for 43 league games ffs. Guess what happend on his 44th?

Probably right about his defensive duties but he is key to us and is well liked at Saints. When he is on his game we're a different team so he's excused all that tackling back nonsense. He can't tackle anyway.

Having done a bit of digging it would appear your mate probably fell foul of the 10 years since issue rule which the EU are now enforcing.

Basically look at the issue date and that's when your passport expires for outbound travel. The actual valid until date (which for some reason can be a quite a few months later) applies only for returning to the UK.

It's the usual bureaucratic nonsense but no surprise there <ok>

Very easy to explain a passport lasts ten years. But if whitejocks mate renewed it six months early he would have got an extra six months. The eu do not recognise this and just go with the ten years. In other words they use the issue date. Been a rule for ages now surprised he had not heard of it.
Best one i saw was a newly wed lady trying to board with her new passport in her married name. But they had booked using her maiden name.. Rookie mistake.. If the old passport is still valid then use that. They said she could have boarded with it.which begs the question how did she get as far as the departure gate. This was not recent either so no online check in.

There's a post Brexit issue now that you need to check time remaining on passport - if you changed your passport early you don't get the extra months.
    From t'interwebnet:
How do I check if my adult passport is affected? You can check your passport is valid for travel quickly and easily by visiting: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/passport-rules-for-travel-to-europe-after-brexit
Alternatively, check the expiry date of your passport – you should have at least 6 months remaining on your passport, not counting any additional months beyond 10 years. You may have extra months on your passport’s expiry date if you renewed your old passport before it expired

Yes he is a handful, very strong on the ball but even he has gone off the boil lately. We did have hopes of extending his loan or even buying him ourselves in the last transfer window but he's played himself out of our price range I think.
