As I said it's a slippery slope. Before you know it you are wearing brand new sock and jocks form the most lovely brand possible just the once and tossing them.in the bin cos that new sock feeling is lovely. You'll be in a massive range rover and running 4 houses or more across the globe and getting I to buying art.
I think with the money chasing thing a lot depends on who they join, if its psg or God forbid Newcastle it's purely monetary and estimations go down somewhat I could understand city, Madrid or pre bankrupt Barcelona. You're playing in a competitive league with a chance of big pots coming your way as well. The additional few grand is a bonus.
Don't you agree that they earn enough anyway? If there was no cost to them earning as much as possible then ok, but as I said earlier, there most definitely is a price to pay for the majority of their fans. In the individual case of Mo and LFC, then breaking our pay structure could have additional repercussions on the long-term health of a club that is riding high atm. You made a couple of points earlier that I agree with. Firstly, that some players use their wealth to help their communities and I respect that, but that isn't a stipulation of pay awards so isn't really relevant. Secondly I agree that Mo isn't necessarily as invested in the club as its fans, and that's ok - if he wants to leave then fine. But if he wants to stay only if we chuck more money at him than we think fit then I'd escort him to the door myself. The thing I simply can't get my head around is the idea that retiring at 35 on a small hill of gold can be seen as some sort of misfortune. I think it'd be effin' brilliant. The other point I'd make is that all of this is probably agent's machinations rather than the player's, and it runs the risk of souring the relationship between him and the fans.
Of course they earn enough. More in a year than most make in their life time. But just because we think earning £10m a year instead of £15m isn’t an awful lot. When your used to earning that much money, that extra £5m on a 4 year contract will ‘only’ cover you for 3 years once you retire in theory.
That is assuming you spend all the money you earn, so if you increase your income then by that token your spending would increase accordingly so you'd never have enough. Is the concept of managing your income for the future not a thing any more?
And that's why footballers should probably look into finding solid financial advisors rather than super agents. Someone who can educate them on the 'problems' of making 52million last until old age rather than being bankrupt after 5 years. I still have never seen any argument to convince me of why footballers shouldn't just be told to **** off when they want to move from "ridiculous salary A" to "ridiculous salary B". There's something to be said for giving kids too much too soon. Get back to the days of the youth teams scrubbing the boots of the pros, make them humble and learn to appreciate what they have
Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid Ismaël Gharbi, with his contract running down. Well, the 17-year-old is very, very highly rated, and PSG are desperate not to lose him this summer when his terms expire on June 30th.
Probably pre-bonus, which I understand FSG make the salary very bonus dependent, so they probably take home more.than that.
they are ball park. I don't think trent is on that but it could be close as he signed it last year. the details were not published. the mane one is actually right.
By bonus do you mean incentive because they stopped the incentivised contracts. Some of the players, like Firmino, were on a goal and assist incentive contract but the club have stopped structuring contracts like that.
they still have healthy win and season bonuses. don't worry about that. frimino's initial contract was very much score and get paid stuff. this doesn't mean theres not bonues.
BREAKING: #LFC have opened talks with Jürgen Klopp over a new contract. Jürgen Klopp loves the club and the city and wants to bring more success to Anfield. Jürgen Klopp looks set for a contract extension. ✅
This would be absolutely ****ing massive for the club if it happens. The best and most important contract negotiation of the lot if it's actually true
