I find him utterly unfunny & old fashioned. 20 years ago I loved his style, but times have moved on (or I’ve changed) but he still cracks out the same ****e puns on players names every week. It’s just dull
Considering Sky have binned off a lot of the old guard from their cricket coverage I'm surprised they haven't done the same for this tbh
Speculation is that his replacement isn’t available until the summer after (2023) so he’s agreed to stay on for the time being.
Parole can often be uncertain. To be fair, I think a lot of people on here do the same thing to get a better deal when their Sky contracts up for renewal.
The person sky wanted/want to replace him won't be available to take over till the end of the year due to world cup commitments, so he was asked to stay on one more season as they didn't want to switch mid season
Doesn’t he have a hull connection? Uni maybe? I know he’s always been vocal about his support for us.
I hope he doesn't replace him, I rarely watch Soccer Saturday but listen a lot to 5 Live when he's on - he's the best sports presenter the BBC have.
I disagree , I don’t see why things always have to move with the times , nearly everything in tv and Media life is geared now towards the new modern age , instant series at your fingertips , streaming on what seems like a new platform every week .. some things should be left for us miserable bastards who like things as they are . There is a reason Jeff is the best , same as Alan Brazil is the best on radio . Old school , soon they will be dead and we will have nothing , let us enjoy them while we can while you cool guys watch TV on your watches in outer space or whatever this weeks new thing is ..
Each to our own….Naff, beige & boring! Take a trip to your local old folks home, you will get similar banter from the old boys!
Rather have an afternoon in the boozer with Jeff and the old gang then a Gin and Tonic with Gary Neville discussing the pedestrianisation of Manchester City centre ..
