I watched the various clips via twitter, also the SKY highlights, and I'd have to totally agree with patchy's selections. 1. Chapman, some amazing saves in the first half. 2. Oliver, the big man wasn't going to let them hold him down, and taught them a harsh lesson in physics. 3. Kelman, opened the scoring to the delight of the travelling fans, and those listening from home.
Great day out - sunshine, beer and an away win, though not as much beer as originally planned as the wife of one of my colleagues tested positive for covid on Friday which ruled him out, and I was recovering from a particularly heavy but mercifully short lived head cold - if the match had been a day earlier it would have been pointless me going because I couldn't really see anything. Some luck involved in the result (not only the disputed non-penalty) but overall a much more positive performance than the last game I saw at Wigan. I also have to say that when I saw Chapman at Sheffield I was not at all impressed by his performance. Obviously he's been doing much better in the past couple of months, and the comparative improvement I saw yesterday was very encouraging, and that's overall, not only in the noteworthy saves. And I think he can get better. Also I have to assume that the improvement in Kelman is down to the way he's been coached by Harris and his team compared with the coaching under Evans - in my view he actually ran Chapman close for top spot And finally a positive word about Philips who played very well when he came on. If he can only learn not to pick up stupid cards and stay on the pitch for the time he's supposed to he could be an important player in our run in. It's just a matter of whether he can actually repay any trust that Harris shows in him. He certainly owes him. 1 Chapman 2 Kelman 3 Thompson
1. Chapman 2. Kelman 3. Oliver. 4. Tucker's 'tackle' 5. Ryan Jackson's arms - can we transplant them onto somebody who can use his feet ? 6. The referee - for recognising a 'tackle' 7. The shop next to Specsavers - for being closed when the referee went to get his spectacles. 8. Itstimupnorth - for not complaining that he had 'Manflu'
1 Chapman. Well never new we actually had a decent goalkeeper after being overlooked for so long 2 Oliver finally scoring and assist for first goal. Think always tries at both ends of the pitch which is sometimes forgotten. 3 Kelman. This kid now looks like a decent player
