The remaining contenders to buy Chelsea FC have been told they must commit at least £1bn to future investment in the club if they are to succeed in the battle to end Roman Abramovich's two-decade tenure as owner of last season's Champions League-winners. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...eadline-news-premier-league-2022-b990740.html I guess that rules out ENIC and Levy
Yeh but the rest of us do. Interested to know how they could possibly enforce that? Other than the headline that article doesn't say anything.
Sounds like utter bollox tbh. How can anyone dictate to an owner when and how much to spend ffs. New owner comes in. Does what they want. The end.
Not really, because the club should not be getting sold. The assets should be frozen, then in the future if sanctions are lifted, the assets are returned to the owner. Example: I'd be interested to know what happens to the seized yachts, surely you cannot sell them as the government that seized them, because they do not belong to you, therefore who picks up the docking charges, even if the yacht is left to mothball. I would assume, any outstanding charges would have to paid, before the assets are returned OR sold and the original owner reimbursed the difference. I can't see buying Chelsea will be the end of the clubs problems, because theoretically it is no one's to sell. They can keep wrapping this up in as much bullshite as they want, it's like buying thentaking one bite out of Greggs sausage roll, only to spit it out, because it's not cooked, it's still frozen. I see Chelsea as a future Greggs, sells shhite but people still pay to get a taste of what's on offer. I think it woud make for quite a good club badge... please log in to view this image The new kit... please log in to view this image Not forgetting the new club coach... please log in to view this image
It looks like everyone's on board with it being sold including the powers that be, so I think it will be. Will it all be a clean slate once it is? I don't know. The thing about assets being frozen like the yachts is it's not the same as being 'confiscated' so it means no one can dispose of them. It seems this rule has been circumvented for Chelsea FC but like I said everyone's on board with it. There's no way that will be allowed for other assets though.
Abramovich and some senior Ukrainian delegates ‘mildly’ poisoned after peace talks probs more on twitter or sumin
Lucky to be alive if it was a deliberate poisoning. /Edit read the article and sounds like chemical agent not from food being poisoned... So yeah, lucky to be alive. Russia fooked up again. I don't want to see Roman murdered by the Kremlin no matter what his history is, that's not good.
Nowt lucky about it. It was obviously a message to say, we can get to you whenever we want. If they'd wanted to kill them, they would have done.
Are we about to martyr Sir Roman Abramovich, bringer of peace, bestower of trophies, lord of redemption?
