India 0 Belarus 3. Why haven’t FIFA suspended Belarus as well as Russia? Didn’t see the game but well done England. Weird team.
Kane (apart from the penalty) played like a gimp in bondage trousers, which is not always bad but never welcome on a football pitch
No Wellington dens of iniquity for you young man Play offs will be held in June in Qatar Boo hiss Play off nights were always fun in town
There have been some very strange things written about the England game, both on social media and in the press. Things like: "Well, this England side won't get very far in the world cup". Followed by: "Of course, this won't be anything like the England side that starts in the world cup". That's surely the point? This was an experimental line up, with an experimental midfield containing only one holding midfielder. Poor old Henderson was running around chasing shadows for a lot of the game. Even so, England played some nice stuff early on, before the Swiss scored. Pickford continued with his Jekyll and Hyde performances for Everton and England. He was fantastic, made a couple of excellent saves and one absolutely miraculous one to keep England in the game. Of all the squad players I thought Gallagher was easily the most outstanding. He played well. Kane, about whom so much nonesense is written, played ok and put away the penalty, which was nailed on, with aplomb. His goals to games ratio for England is unbelievable. What he didn't have here was the likes of Sterling and Saka running beyond him. Once England got the likes of Sterling, Grealish and Rice on they looked a different proposition, although it was still clearly disjointed. Winning is a great mentality to get into and England, with all the changes, did very well to beat a good Swiss side, who'd picked a strong line up. I hope Southgate plays 4-3-3, as this gets another attacking player into the line up imo.

The All Whites are now only two wins away from qualifying for the World Cup after wearing down Tahiti to reach the final of the Oceania World Cup qualifying tournament. Liberato Cacace scored the game’s only goal in the 70th minute of a physical contest to secure a 1-0 win, booking the All Whites a date with the Solomon Islands in the final on Thursday (kickoff 6am). The All Whites completely dominated the semifinal at Grand Hamad Stadium in Doha, out-shooting Tahiti 16-4 and holding 68 per cent of the possession. Both teams conceded 19 fouls. Matthew Garbett headed high from close-range midway through the first half while Bill Tuiloma had a second-half header cleared off the line. Cacace, who made the initial burst into the box, scored his first international goal with a tap-in after some good hold-up play by Garbett inside the six-yard box. Stefan Marinovic was largely untroubled in the All Whites goal, forced to make just one save across the 90 minutes. All Whites 1 (Liberato Cacace 70’) Tahiti 0
If you beat Solomon Islands do you play the 5th place South Americans like previous World Cup qualifiers?...
