Good Morning. It's Friday 25th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road With Radrizzani at the helm, are we seeing Ridsdale V2.0 60 Million for an England midfielder and 35-60 Million (depending on which source you believe) for a Brazilian winger!!! Insufficient contractual terms, desperation signings like Jean Kevin Augustin and the failure to make necessary signings when desperately needed - have Leeds learnt nothing from their predecessors? At least with Ridsdale, we were close to realising our dream before it all came crashing down around us. Whilst little can be done when a larger club like Barcelona come calling, I take offence when Aston Villa are trying to nick our best players! If and when Raph and Phillips depart, where does that leave the likes of Meslier and Bamford? Have Leeds left it too late to attract top talent to Elland Road; do they see us as another Burnley? please log in to view this image Villa make Phillips their main priority Dean Jones believes Aston Villa's aspirations for European football may be a contributing factor in persuading Kalvin Phillips to join them in the Summer. The Daily Mirror journalist also admits that working under Steven Gerrard may appeal to Phillips. The West Midlands outfit are of the opinion that a fee of 60m would be enough to lure him away from his childhood club. “I think if Kalvin Phillips were to leave Leeds, he would be looking for certain aspects to fit what he’s looking for. “Aston Villa have got Steven Gerrard and that, obviously, is a massive positive for them in terms of persuading him. “They’re going to be pushing for European football from this point on and that’s the aim, so that’ll suit him.” please log in to view this image Raphinha posts crypic message from Thorp Arch Days after being diagnosed with Covid, Raphinha has sent a cryptic message (allegedly from Thorp Arch) to his millions of fans on social media platform Instagram; reigniting speculation it may be connected some way to his future at Elland Road! “Whatever you want for me, I’m going to wish you double,” “If you wish me good, I will wish you good more and more. “If you wish me evil, I’ll wish you 10x good, after all, we offer what we have.” Only the player himself, and possibly his agent Deco, know the true meaning of his post, but many believe it's related to the transfer speculation, linking the 25yo to a Summer move to the Nou Camp. Media outfit Sport.es have today claimed "the Brazilian winger has asked Deco, who is his representative, to do everything possible to make his landing at the Camp Nou next year", but then again, they have also described him as a left sided winger!!! please log in to view this image
So Raph thinks £60m is too much, well it's at least the going rate for a player of his talent, is it Leeds fault Barcelona lived beyond their means for years, so can't afford him. If Deco is the master agent, why didn't he sell him to them when we bought him for £17m, probably because it took Bielsa to make him the player he is now, taking him to the next level. After this season, I'll not be sorry to see him go, all this bollocks about the love of the club, he's just a petulant twat. If Phillips goes to Liverpool or Citeh, fans won't like it but many will understand his desire to play CL football, anywhere else and he becomes another Smith. Hopefully he will stay.
International breaks means a lot of crap gets printed in the media. Par fir the course and to be fair the season we’re having its understandable that cluckbait hits us. Barcelona signed 5 new players this season 4 were freebies. They have another 4 new players already lined up and contracts signed for this summer all 4 are freebies. They are skint and even the wages they will pay these new players isnt what they would get in the premier league with a top 10 club. I accept that Raphinha will go but it will benefit the club financially, but if we survive Phillips will still be here next season.
I'll eat my hat if KP goes to Villa, that's horseshit. Hard to know about Rapha, as was pointed out a while back, if he stayed until after the World Cup his price would rise considerably if he does well. It's a gamble for him but if he's smart he won't sign anything until next January and play his bollocks of in Qatar
Leeds United are monitoring Rangers star Ryan Kent ahead of the summer, Football Insider understands. United have a long-standing interest in the winger, 25, whose future is in new doubt with 15 months remaining on his contract. A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Kent remains on the club’s radar despite the departure of firm admirer Marcelo Bielsa last month.
Afternoon all, There is more chance of me signing for villa than KP. Villa offer little more than Leeds in terms of weeks they can offer as a competitive team. Ignore the 3-0 game because we were just awful but nothing I've of them suggests that are much better than Leeds this season. This in a season where we have played with half our team missing at all times and they have been putting their best 11 out regularly. We are only 7 points behind them. With the right signings and players fit next year we have a huge chance to compete and overtake them. Philips loves Leeds too much. He will only leave if the club he is going to is offering champions League football and regular champions League football.
Afternoon all Too much smoke around Raphinha his agent is obviously trying to engineer a move away. £60m is absolute minimum if we don’t get an offer sell him in the January window after the World Cup as I’m sure he’ll be worth more. KP for team captain next season, that’s how I see it, I think he’ll give it one more year to see if we can progress on the field if not he’ll be off to a top 6 club
Sorry Hemase, but if Villa come in with an offer for you, then I would thank you for your service to the forum, but also tell you the offer was too good to refuse and wish you the best of luck with your new forum teammates
Whilst it is difficult to predict who may be team captain next season, as we don't know who will be here, I don't see it being KP, given that March has said that he wants KP to work on developing his leadership skills. I consider that to be that JM can see Kalvin being our team captain in the future but either he is not there yet, or more likely that at present we have players more suited to that role. Think KP may become vice captain depending again what happens with the present squad next year. Others may of course interpret what JM said and meant differently to myself
It seems as though when discussing which of our top players will still be here next season, who’ll be captain etc, it’s already assumed we’re safe. We’re not. Suffice to say relegation will see them all leave.
Cooper club captain and on the bench. Phillips on field captain for me as Ayling hasnt had a great season and been played out of position a lot. Ayling is a player I see having to compete for bis place like Cooper…..
Players linked to barca this week, by the spanish press. Raphinha, mbappe, haaland salah and lewandoski. One player on loan, traore, will be sent back to wolves as they can not afford the 30m€ price tag. Clickbait city never sleeps!

As we are into hypotheticals, how about the rumour that Bielsa may take over as the Australian Coach. https://www.statsinsider.com.au/blo...for-the-socceroos-and-marcelo-bielsa-to-tango
