Bale and Ramsey in the squad but will they be there on the day?

No Danny Ward due to injury so Hennesey should get his 99th cap.

No Kieffer or Tyler Roberts so a bit light up top.

Colwill, Vaulks and Mark Harris in but no place for Isaak Davies. Could change if Bale goes golfing. <whistle>

They are trying to set up a friendly for Tuesday 29th with Scotland/Ukraine not playing.

As an aside, McGuinness and Bagan in Republic under 21 squad.

Not sure he would have started with Moore in any event.
Tyler Roberts shouldn’t get near the pitch.
Extraordinary that Williams, Gunter and Vaulks are in an international football squad.

I'm sure Bale will be present given his priorities:
    1). Wales
    2). Golf
    3). Real Madrid
Ramsey too has shown a commitment to the red shirt that was not always there from some of his predecessors.
I've actually lost track of what we have to do to qualify given the Russia/Ukraine situation.
It would be great to see Wales in the World Cup finals, but it's a shame it could be this one.
I'm certain Qatar improved their approach to human rights in order to get the tournament. They're still not good and I fear they'll go back to their barbaric ways after the tournament. Makes me wonder where FIFA and the football world in general draw their red lines.
    I apologise for the politics.

Back to the game, I think it will be a tough test in the middle of a hectic period for some players while others have had hardly any recent game time. On our day and with a rocking CCS, we should be able to do it.

You know it’ll be ironic after generations of failing to qualify for the WC finals, that if Wales do it’ll be for a tournament played in the winter in alien weather conditions and an absence of hordes of travelling fans.

Once the finalists are established, FIFA should cancel it and play it next summer in a proper football country.

The UK would be good. I was going to say Wales but only 2 suitable stadiums. Both in Cardiff.

    An interesting read sparkey.
An astute observation regarding reliance on attacking flair. We've seen it down the years, none more so than in the Rush, Hughes, Speed, Saunders time frame.
Trying to shoe horn the best players into the side just to get them on the pitch.

The team that got to the Euros semi was probably the most balanced from back to front.

We're again struggling to get the balance right, especially in defence.

Maybe the Swans accadamy and our new sausage machine can help provide balance in years to come, though a number of the youngsters we are producing arent Welsh qualified.
Would be good for the Welsh team and the Welsh supporters if we could make a WC finals. It would also cap off two fine careers for Bale and Ramsey.

Good article but the focus is not entirely on Bale and Ramsey. James, Wilson and, when fit again, Brooks have big parts to play. Neco Williams and Connor Roberts also to have an influence with, hopefully, Colwill, Davies and others to come through.

Possibly the weak area is central midfield where Joe Allen and Ramsey are coming to the end of their effective careers.

Vaulks couldn’t even make the 12 strong men bench; not sure why he was even put into the squad.

Been cutting down a tree in the front garden and gave the logs uo a neighbour.
Impromptu gathering around a fire pit this evening, then realised the footy was on.
    "Sorry, got to go.".
Saw the last 15 of the first half and settled down for the second
Suitably relaxed after wine arround the fire pit, but more importantly enjoying the 2nd half.
    Great noise from CCS!<cheers>

Conceded a goal, but had a few other clear cut chances ourselves.
Need to put one of those away.
