Has anyone watched the Caan Berry Protrader YouTube channel? Current vlog is questioning Tote manipulation of the place pot. Interesting watch? To me yes though I very rarely do a place pot but plenty other vlogs on bookies behaviours and stake limiting successful punters. Wonder if they have their eyes on me after my fiver on fishcake yesterday
Nothing for me but a few notes. (i) Since when do horses costing €225,000 run in the Brocklesby??? Is that cricket??? (ii) At first glance what exceptional cards in Britain and Ireland on Sunday. They look very good. (iii) A wodge of horse have come out of the Grand National at the latest entry stage. If you previously thought your fancy was borderline or unlikely to get in you may get a pleasant surprise. Have a look at the revised field, team.
Sad to hear of the death of Jimmy Lindley. A fine horseman he was stable jockey at Jeremy Tree's Beckhampton Stables for many years. He struggled to do flat racing weights and at one stage went over hurdles, which he was pretty successful at. He'd have ridden far more winners than he did if he hadn't had those weight issues and retired in his early '40s. What I didn't know was that at the end of 1966 he was offered the stable jockey role for Noel Murless, on Piggott deciding to turn freelance. He declined it as he wanted to be loyal to Tree. Murless then asked him to ride Royal Palace in his Classic year. Lindley went to Tree and said he'd like to take up the offer. Tree refused, saying he had several Classic colts. So he reluctantly declined Murless's offer. This was out of character for Tree as he seemed the most generous of men. Lindley left Tree at the end of 1967. Many people think George Moore was Murless's first choice but he wasn't. We don't know who he considered before deciding on Lindley.
