Former defence and education secretary Gavin Williamson is to be knighted after the nomination being approved by her Maj this total failure has only been in the politico trough since 2010 and also has the dubious "distinction" of being sacked from his ministerial roles by two prime minister's, so to be given this "honour" would seem to suggest that the whole shebang is rotten to the core..... imagine a dustman applying for a job after being sacked from two other boroughs for throwing people's garbage all over the road and then given a supervisory position in his third...... right men this is your new gaffer Mr potato head just kick the bins over
Derby are going to the wall, Chelsea could be as well and Everton are going down with possible sanctions imposed as well. Frank Lampard is a jonah!!

I’m not politically motivated usually but P&O sacked 800 staff I’m reading that they have employed workers fro another country paying 1.81/hr The minimum wage in the uk is 8.91 I understand that foreign registered owners can get away with this We voted for Brexit so we could make our own rules Over to you Grant Shapps sort it no foreign ferries allowed to dock in the uk unless they at least pay uk minimum wage My bloods boiling over this
I see where you are coming from 2p. Would you apply the same rule to all ships that dock at UK ports?
My initial reaction is yes but without full facts yes is qualified however in the case of P&O to sack uk workers and replace with underpaid workers from India which incidentally are supporting Putin I wouldn’t let P&O anywhere near the UK Incidentally I understand the holding company of P&O are worth Billions who also had millions from the UK population under the furlough scheme
Could be a good thing we import far too much anyway Uk used to be the workshop of the world As it is too much money going into too few pockets
I agree with that. Unfortunately so long as someone on the planet produces on the cheap there'll always be a market. China is the prime example. It doesn't matter to governments and companies what they do with respect to human rights, polution etc, they'll still want to deal with them.
That transition from UK workers, or other similarly paid workers, in the shipping industry has been going on for ages P&O are just the latest ones to get around to it on their ferries. I think the owners are based in Dubai and yes they probably got lots of cash under the furlough scheme but business is business and I don't suppose there were any rules requiring them to pay back the money if x, y or z happened.
