One thing I will say for Adam Armstrong today. Yeah his finishing was woeful, but I can see a striker in him. He made some good runs and got into some good positions today. I'm sure he will improve

Yeah he showed some intelligence aswell. Was one breakaway where he slowed Walker down and shifted inside which enabled him to get his (tragically) hit shot away. Feel like most strikers would’ve just kept running flat out and Walker would’ve just rinsed them for pace and won the ball back easily

Just got back yes sorta my thinking. AA & Long’s forward press was very good, as was the backup press & we certainly lost that after they went off. However, neither can hit the onion bag, so it’s difficult. The OG was a get out of jail card but Salisu’s “Spurs” fart just killed us. Of course Che nearly made it 2-2 soon after, which would have raised the roof & there’s the margins. Over to you Ralph.

Quite proud of the effort of the majority today, also reassuring to see us step up after some poor results recently.

Livramento, Stuart Armstrong, KWP, Romeu, Adam Armstrong stood out (especially good to see a performance from the latter, would like to see him get a game next to Broja soon).

Unfortunately Salisu and Stephens let us down today, there is a running theme that our cb performances have declined significantly recently.

But it’s Man City and they can do that, Foden scored an absolute screamer and Mahrez had a tidy finish. 4-1 not really a fair reflection of the game and we need to take the positives.

That’s our season more or less over though, so let’s use it to put together a solid platform for next year, onwards and upwards.

Funny how we all see the games differently. I did not want to mention specific players who did not perform given the team we were playing and we did give them a good game for 75 mins. However....

Adam Armstrong was really poor today (again) and l know those around me thought the same. Yes, l read how is confidence may be low etc., but honestly, we carry him.every time we play him. Is there a Premier League player in him? I hope so given what we paid for him, but l am not seeing it, not yet IMO, so let's hope l am wrong (and the rest of us who thought he was **** today).

Just had a message from my City mate about our right back. Thought he was a good. So I asked him which one he meant. Our right back or our right/left back. He meant Tino. He thought the Kyle Walker twins were confusing, so I told him yours is big, old and fat, ours is small young and skinny. No confusion at all.

I thought we played well in the main.

Great cup tie, definitely a flattering scoreline. Sadly was just one step too far for RTM.

I don't necessarily think (silly though it was) that the soft penalty changed the game. It was more Che walloping his chance straight at Steffen. If that goes in (as it should have done), well our tails are back up again. The difference maker was the ability for Pep to bring on golden, world class talent who then delivered two exceptional goals.

All in all though, a good performance. The trick now will be to continue to play with that same determination for the rest of the season, rather than picking up the flip-flops...

    Pretty unfair score line
Nothing in it between us for most of the game
I did think if you had a natural goal scorer like Ings rather than Long & Armstrong the game would’ve been different
Always glad to see Shane Long on the team sheet, tries hard but always looks like a fan has won a raffle to be a striker for the day

We weren’t terrible, but 2 bad errors by our CB’s led to goals. If you make those kind of mistakes against city you will lose.

We have a mid-table team, can’t really expect anything else against them.

I've got to say, for all the money you've spent on quality players, the player who always impresses me most when I watch City has come from your academy. Foden is scarily good for a 21 year old. I was really hoping Pep would keep him on the bench. Incredible player.

It was a game where we had to avoid defensive mistakes, and take our chances when the came along - we didn`t do either. Generally it was good performance though, and on another day we may have nicked it.

I thought his finishing was awful, but his general play was very good. Put the right pressure on and alongside a striker who could finish could produce a decent partnership.

He really does need to work on his finishing though, big time, amazing to think he scored 24 last season.

No complaints really. Pen looked a bit soft, Frazer unlucky not to keep it out. JWP and Che both had chances which went straight to their keeper. Foden’s goal was an absolute ****ing worldie tbf. The Mahrez goal was a sickener, but the game was gone by then anyway.

Romeu was a warrior, what a ****ing guy. Stewie back to his best, JWP excellent, just keeps getting better, never gets tired. A. Armstrong pretty solid I thought. Both our FBs had great games, our CBs are Saints CBs, what can you say? We haven’t looked solid at the back for 90 mins, since Fonte left tbh.

I like Jack's commitment to the cause, but he's really not a terribly intelligent footballer. Decent 3rd, preferably 4th choice, but CB is definitely an area we need to reinforce in the summer.

Now that SFC are out of the cup, I fancy Crystal Palace will win it as Chelsea have a massive tie against Real Madrid, and one of Ciy/Liverpol may well be preparing for the CL final So Palace it is!!
