Yes, there was the possibility, there always is. We play well against City for the most part, we're making stupid errors.
If you think that's an accurate summary of my comments on the matter then you've not read my posts properly, quite possibly deliberately.
That was disappointing but only by the scoreline Only two mistakes and City scored two goals. The othertwo goals were because of world class passing. I can't fault the work rate but City are relentless. However, let's face it Greilish cost more than the whole Saints squad. It is tough for us to to compete against the top teams. This game should be treared as a learning experience about how to be clinical in front of goal, when to tackle and not to tackle. I've said it before, this Saints team will get better
Good performance. Disappointing in the way the first two goals were conceded. Once they went ahead the second time their quality and depth told. Our lack of clinical finishing was the difference.
Was hoping up to 60 mins and we shoot ourselves in the foot. Stupid foul, really struggle to see that as a penalty. He touches is back and he goes down and the judges gives him 9.8 and Mike Dean has an orgasm in giving City a penalty. Scoreline suggest a dicking, but I think that it was very close, but I am concerned how we react to this .
Pepe citing Charlie Adams' chance before the Foden goal We played well, but as architects of our downfall, over the first two goals and missed chances; we enabled them to put a bit of gloss on what was for the most part a good contest.
Not after a row (genuinely!) But how? We have a few ****e players, more mediocre ones, and possibly 3 that other teams would want. RH is OK as a coach, not the worst, definitely not the best. Unless we go on a spending spree the likes of we've never seen before we're not going to get any better.
What, because I can see our short comings? We're not great.... Doesn't change the fact that I love our club. Always have, always will.
Besides the gap between the haves, and the have nots is just getting greater. As someone else said earlier Grealish probably cost more than our first 11. Nothing we can do about it, but let's not pretend we have a good squad and manager
No but for who we are we do. That is the point. I would love to spend £50-60 million in a player and get Pep in, but it is t happening. Upper mid table and a good cup run is who we are or who we can realistically expect.
A big spending spree is not going to happen but if we can get back to getting cheaper players like Mane for example and selling for a big profit to re-invest in the team then maybe just maybe we can be a team that is constantly in and around the top half and perhaps get into Europe again.
I think if you look more closely Salisu made contact, albeit slight, with Jesus’ left leg, which is why I think the penalty was given. Soft yes, but I would have been upset if it had been the other end and not given.
