The only difference between this season and last season is instead of Merc and Red Bull as the top 2 way out in front it’s Ferrari and Red Bull.

So do Red Bull now protest the Mercedes Mirrors to try and get them DQ'ed?

If Merc aren't competing they'll turn their venom to Ferrari. Just you watch.

Well done to Binotto for calmly working though the issues when things looked bleak and to Ferrari for keeping their faith in him.

They will try and protest ferrari and Merc but probably only if it could gain them points.

They should protest their own engines and try to get them banned.

Merc imo have to be close in power. If they can resolve the disasterous handing and aero issues then they will gain up to a second imo.

Red bull up **** creek right now. Will have to take an engine later on.

it only helped because Red Bull crashed and burned but the inherent garbageness by Merc standards of their car is still there. They’re slow everywhere.

I think they are only slow as they are running high and big wing angles to avoid bouncing. If they solve the bounce they can lower ride height and reduce wing angles. Once fixed they will fly.

Yes, but the point being that they’ve got a cracking result today and haven’t experienced the points loss one might associate with such a slow car.

IF- and it’s a big if- they do improve their performance and fight RBR and Ferrari, they will not be coming back from a huge number of points down.

If you want to see a poor weekend, look at McLaren. I’m gutted by their performance and it doesn’t tie in with testing at all, unless the brakes issue is just eating their performance

That I think will take a very long time, it feels that the design route they took is simply wrong compared to Ferrari and Red Bull. For me it feels more than just an aero problem.

I wonder if the metal cooling ducts are messing with tyre temps and they don't have any modelling setup for the temporary fix. So either tyres too hot or too cold?

Was about to say how surprising it was for the cars to be so reliable after such big changes then, boom, Red Bull powertrains bringing the promised fireworks.

Hamilton had to end up on the podium somehow. Merc are miles off the pace, but today just bought them a little more time to fix it.

A perfect drive from Leclerc. About time he got the car to show that he's just as good as Max.

Brilliant for Ferrari. I wonder what it is about Red Bull that nobody likes them. Even when Ferrari were leading the championship with Vettel there was never the animosity between them and Merc compared to Red Bull and Merc or should I say Red Bull and every other team.
