How do you rate our players? I'm a bit bored so I have decided to say my opinion on our first team squad.

I will go in order of squad numbers on what I think of them:

1 Steve Harper - Loyal player, really good pro but now Krul is twice the player of him imo and it is probably time he left

2 Fabricio Coloccini - Fantastic player, great captain, great defender - Mr Consistent. He is arguably our best player and deserves an Argentina call up

3 Davide Santon - Not seem him play much, but from what I've heard he seems very highly thought of. 7 caps for Italy already

4 Yohan Cabaye - Very good player. You can notice the difference with him in the team instead of Nolan. Can pass, create, score goals, take set pieces and tackles well too

5 Danny Simpson - I like him, did well for us in the Championship, very good last season. But, towards the end of last season and so far this his performances have been quite poor. Feel sorry for him with whats going on in his personal life though

6 Mike Williamson - Same as Simpson really - did well in the Championship, did well for majority of last season, but towards the end looked a bit dodgy. Good backup though

8 Danny Guthrie - I'm not Guthrie's biggest fan, but is capable of some good displays as demonstrated yesterday. A bit injury prone though which is frustrating and not sure if he will sign a contract to stay with us

10 Hatem Ben Arfa - No doubt he is a top player. Needs to be given time to get back to playing regular because he has been through tough times over the past year. A very good, quick, skillful player and a terrific left foot

11 Peter Lovenrkands - I like him. Been good for us - especially in the Championship. Is a good pro and will always give 100%. He is not too good now though and will more than likely get replaced when his deal expires

12 Rob Elliot - He is just the cover keeper, but not sure about him. Looked dodgy against Forest, but I trust Pardew - he says he is a good keeper and worked with him at Charlton so seems like he has faith in him

13 Mehdi Abeid - I really like the look of him so far. He looks like he can tackle, pass and gives 100%. Obviously not seen a lot of him, but seems to shoot well too

14 James Perch - Bought as a versatile player, but not sure what his position is as he is ridiculously out of his depth. If he was a dog he'd have been put down by now lol

15 Dan Gosling - Thought he was a good little player at Everton, but so far I have been less than impressed. He is still young and can succeed. Possibly needs a loan deal to play regular games and get his form back

16 Ryan Taylor - I like him, good pro and is class at set pieces. Can cross the ball and has done really well this season playing left back - which is a position that he hasn't played in before

17 Alan Smith - He is good in the dressing room apparently. But, he is awful at football these days and we need to get rid ASAP

18 Jonas Gutierrez - Classy, hardworking player who seems to genuinely love it here. Crossing is improving and wins us a lot of freekicks. Great character too

19 Demba Ba - Hardworking striker who can score hat fulls of goals. Is good with both feet and great in the air. A real team player aswell

20 Leon Best - Improved loads since the Championship season. Can score goals in the Premier League and gives his all in every game

21 Fraser Forster - Not sure he will ever play a game for us. He doesn't seem to be doing great for Celtic and is nowhere near as good as Krul

22 Sylvain Marveaux - Looks like a class act. Great left foot, very good crosser and has pace. Could set up a lot of goals for us

23 Shola Ameobi - A truly awful player. But, we all love him for some bizarre reason. A Nigerian with a Geordie accent who on his day can be very good. Most of the time he is terrible and can't really believe he has been here his whole career lol

24 Cheik Tiote - A fantastic buy for us. Has turned into an arguably world class defensive midfield player. Tough tackling and wears his heart on his sleeve. Can score beauts aswell :p

25 Gabriel Obertan - Very quick and has the potential to be a top player. At the moment though he looks like somebody who should be an impact sub. Can't cross and doesn't work very hard.

26 Tim Krul - Great goalkeeper already and he is only 23. In the future I believe he will be one of the best in the world. He seems to love the club

27 Steven Taylor - Local lad who loves Newcastle United. A very good centre back who partners Colo superbly. Great in the air and our biggest threat from set pieces

28 Sammy Ameobi - More potential than his brother. Has the ability to run at players. Could be a very good player in the future

29 Haris Vuckic - Has potential to be very good. Needs to play regular and will probably go on loan soon. Good left foot and can create good stuff

30 Nile Ranger - Has got potential, but seems like a **** and should probably be sold. Has had so many chances to prove he is not a **** and has failed

31 Shane Ferguson - Can play left back or left midfield and seems to have a lot about him already. Could be a regular first teamer in the future

    Hope I haven't missed anybody lol :p

1 Steve Harper - Loyal, professional, down to earth and generally nice guy. Would have said he'd be our first choice this season but Krul has been unbelievable.

2 Fabricio Coloccini - Very solid and reliable, not afraid to show a bit of skill.

3 Davide Santon - Potentially great, haven't seen enough.

4 Yohan Cabaye - Just amazing, amazing passes are second nature to him and he is probably our best outfield player right now. My favourite NUFC player in years.

5 Danny Simpson - Seems an honest lad but probably a bit too complacent. When Perch had his slot for a few games he came back and performed well. Needs competition.

6 Mike Williamson - Alright, decent backup but puts us under a lot of unnecessary pressure at times.

8 Danny Guthrie - Reasonably reliable player, has the odd blinder every so often too which isn't bad.

10 Hatem Ben Arfa - Will come good soon, he is brilliant.

11 Peter Lovenrkands - Loyal since returning from oblivion (played instead of attending his dads funeral right?) and seems a nice enough guy but is invisible when he plays top half prem teams.

12 Rob Elliot - No idea, just a cover keeper who seemed crap against Forest but apparently he even admitted himself that he had a bad game.

13 Mehdi Abeid - Not seen much yet but he looks potentially great.

    14 James Perch - Poor.

15 Dan Gosling - Has had a few nice moments here and there but seems to lack composure.

16 Ryan Taylor - Still shaky, but surprisingly better in LB than I thought he'd be. Our LB feels safer than RB now weirdly.

17 Alan Smith - He is good in the dressing room apparently. But, he is awful at football these days and we need to get rid ASAP <- Yep, this.

18 Jonas Gutierrez - Classy, hardworking player who seems to genuinely love it here. Crossing is improving and wins us a lot of freekicks. Great character too <- And this again.

19 Demba Ba - Good team player and he said he is having the best time of his life right now which is a pretty awesome thing to hear. Hoping he bags plenty more goals.

20 Leon Best - Good poacher with a few tricks up his sleeve every so often (he is surprisingly good at taking on defenders), works hard and wants to prove himself.

21 Fraser Forster - No idea but who cares when we have Krul.

22 Sylvain Marveaux - Looks to be brilliant, as long as he is used properly.

23 Shola Ameobi - Awful footballer but genuine and lovely guy who is clearly proud as punch every time he walks onto the pitch, shame he can't transfer that into more effort...

24 Cheik Tiote - Word Class without a doubt, he is like a pitbull, always there and harassing whoever has the ball. Amazing player and fan favourite.

25 Gabriel Obertan - Speedy and has potential but it's going to take too long for that to surface I think. Somebody suggested playing him up front as a test - I think thats a good idea.

26 Tim Krul - He will become one of the world's best goalkeepers in time, he is having a phenomenal season so far, we need Krul in order to succeed. Seems to be a genuine and nice lad too.

27 Steven Taylor - Local lad who loves Newcastle United. A very good centre back who partners Colo superbly. Great in the air and our biggest threat from set pieces <- this.

28 Sammy Ameobi - Already better than Shola, but then again so is my Grandmother. Has bags of pace and confidence - could be brilliant and it's good to know we're likely to keep hold of him.

29 Haris Vuckic - Potentially great, cant wait to see more.

30 Nile Ranger - ****, can't be arsed with him.

31 Shane Ferguson - Another favourite of mine, I can't stop watching him destroy Stoke's defense like a little Beardsley. Can't wait to see more of him as he could be a future star.

    bit harsh on shola

shola is very good for what he is and that is a backup striker who comes on for the last 20 mins to see a game out or plays the odd game when first choicers are out. we honestly have noone better at coming into a game and slowing the play down by winning us freekicks in the opposition half and lumbering about keeping the ball (until he tackles himself). he's also a very decent finisher and i swear i've seen a video of training where he absolutely took the piss and just walked through a whole team against him, rounded the keeper and rolled it into the net.

shame he's an absolute crock though and that's partly down to managers abusing him when he was injured and ****ing is hip up completely. what annoys me about him is he is capable of being sublime one minute and then just falling over the next, and he can't string 2 games together these days.
