Only because no one is allowed to say 'no' to minority groups any more.

You can tell the entire nation they can't travel to France ...

... but you can't tell a handful of blokes they're not actually ladies.

That's a very straight forward view on a not so straight forward matter.

It's just a massive cluster **** of an argument.

To be honest, I lean towards agreeing with you but there is a very passionate argument to be made on the other side. And it's not one I can be arsed arguing against.

Personally, I believe woman athletes should just refuse to compete against them, I think they would be gone before the next set of games.

I agree with that Rooch. However, as a society we should be encouraging sport for everyone so i think if they want to compete at the upper levels they need to create their own competitions, just as everyone has done for generations,

It's odd how we never hear about women under going the same process doing well against men though

So you are likening Trans athletes to Russians. You will be freezing their “assets” next, something they will probably appreciate to help them on their journey.

I generally agree. It isn’t fair on women in this context. As someone who mostly works with young people though there’s a part of me thinks that we need to create a space in the modern world for those who don’t fit the type to do sport. Lord knows how like - if you said there should be a trans olympics there’d likely be hell on. Blows my mind this stuff. I can only ever think of questions, never answers.

A trans person should onybe allowed to compete 16 years after their transition whilst taking the relevant hormone replacements. This would mean the effectively go through a kind of puberty and development in their chosen gender and shed all their advantageous traits of their previous one before competing.

The only fair solution would be to have a trans category where fellow trans athletes can compete against each other, maybe then invite male or female athletes to also compete if they so wish.

Allowing a woman who is essentially male (no matter what they believe) to compete against women is unfair. You simply cannot change the core physicality of how you are born.

As previously mentioned some sports where physical attributes are not key would be absolutely fine but most of athletics is virtually all about strength conditioning. Therefore any trans person competing as a woman will have a huge natural advantage.

Until someone has the bottle to say this it will continue to be a mess with protests from other athletes, and I’m not surprised.

It’s like sticking a Ferrari badge on a car and entering it into a race full of Ford Fiesta’s.

D5B7BD85-D62A-4C60-BD23-6770214EA242.jpeg Also, this is what I mean by the physical attributes. Studies have shown that transgender men can have increased strength with testosterone therapy.

It doesn’t work with Transgender women though as you simply can’t take away that natural strength.

And it is the physicality that counts in most sports. In football, Darlington men's team would beat the England Women's team ten times out of ten, not because the men play better/more technical football, but are more physically developed for the sport.
Even in the likes of golf and tennis for example, when the shot is executed you can often see the women are better technicians, but power is king.

This is absolutely on the button. I'm all in favour of equality in all walks of life, if a man and a woman apply for the same work they should both be capable of performing the work to the required standard and be equally qualified to do so. Too often these days the pc box has to ticked to meet targets, just watch football commentary on TV at the moment.

This is where I have a ****ing problem.

Want to change sexes? Fine. I don't get it. But I don't need to. It's not my business. But you can't just ****ing decide what you are until you are scientifically that ****ing thing. It's absolute ****ing nonsense.

I can't go into a bastard bank having decided I'm a rich man not a poor man and take out all the ****ing money I don't have.

Or if you are born a man and want a career in sports then you compete against other men no matter what parts of your body you want to change or call yourself.
When it comes down to it a man will never be a woman, he will be a man that has had a sex change.
If this sports person had excelled while still a man and competed against other men would they then have wanted to compete in the women's event.
There is no way someone who was born a man and had a sex change would not have a much higher physical and strength advantage over a woman.
I personally believe they can chose to do or be who they want to be, but if they were born a man then they compete against men.
I also don't get the gay games can you imagine someone deciding to start off the straight games. I'm sick to death of these minority groups who claim to want equality and everyone to be treated as equals yet they start their own organisations only for people in their minority groups.
Just take Sam Smith refusing to turn up to the brits because he was nominated for best male but he doesn't identify himself as male, I'm sorry but when we are born it is stated on our birth certificate that we areale or female FACT no matter how we want to lead our lives that is what we are.
Yes have a sex change if you want, if you are gay that's fine but we can't change what is on our birth certificate whether we like it or not
