I saw Twitter comments suggesting this when Sheldon’s story about our 60 minute antics came out. It is excessive for all injuries but perhaps there should be mandatory concussion subs for ALL claimed head injuries. As in they have to go off for at least 5 (maybe 10?) minutes to be assessed. Perhaps some players will still try and exploit it. And forcing a sub wouldn’t speed the play up. It would potentially slow it down. Unless they stuck rigidly to adding stoppage time for each sub?
Good points. All this requires is for the league/fa to use the precedent set by rugby union. The ref's voice should be heard around the stadium saying 'time off and 'time on'. And the clock to be visible to all..
Absolutely stunning result in the CL tonight. Juventus 0, Villareal 3. So three Spanish teams and three PL.sides in the quarters. Bound to be at least oñe pairing between La Liga and PL, and maybe an all La Liga tie and PL tie as well. The team that beats Liverpool will win the CL, and I honestly don't think anyone will, save perhaps the wily Real Madrid, not that they are that good but they have the nous.
As much as he would deny it, Juve are no longer part of Europe's elite. They're 4th in Serie A and haven't been close to winning the CL for years.
Which explains why they are so desperately pushing the super league. Did they have a debt issue as well? I know they have really pushed the boat out in recent years in a failed attempt to win the champions league And bizarrely in that time the other Italian clubs have caught up It is odd when that happens - so psg push to try and win the UCL and then lose the title to Lille last season. Odd
Very harsh on KWP not to be included. Although there could be withdrawals so he could still get called up.
Quite how James and Shaw have been picked when they have been out injured in recent weeks is quite laughable? No doubt the "brilliant" Wan Bissaka or Chambers will be called up ahead of KWP!
Bodo Glimt!! I don't think any team will fancy playing them in the quarters of the Europa Conference, having destroyed Celtic in an earlier knock- out round, and shredded Roma in the group stage. But if any football fan loves the Arctic, maybe this could be the últimate trip. Wonder if Ralph sees any players of theirs that could fit in at St Mary's?
Fantastic result for West Ham that. Don't see why they couldn't win it really, or at least come close.
If I was a West Ham fan I'd want to draw Barca in the next round. Maybe the toughest draw but get to go to the Nou Camp.
Both teams from the city of Sevilla, where the final Will be played, exited tonight. As you said, Libby, a very good result for West Ham against a good team at this level. And let is not forget Rangers. They may not be everyone's favourite, but fair play to them.
