Sorry, but I like living on the wild side. I want us to win because the team worked hard and not simply because I was unable to watch live.
Start Salah on the bench for the sake of his ankles - we can always sub him on if we are in dire need. I'd start Diaz, Mane, Jota up front and bring on Salah and Bobby in the later stages. Arsenal are not the team they were 6/7/8 games ago, unfortunately. Their defense / keeper looks the most solid they've been in a while. Their attack looks decent with Saka and Martinelli looking sprightly. I'd be tempted to switch in Konate for Matip to deal with the pace of their attack, but with Matip in the form he is in I'm not sure I could justify it. Matip/VVD will likely start. I'd plump for industry in the midfield. Maybe start Hendo, Fab, and maybe Curtis Jones (Ox? Former players usually turn up against their old sides). I'd reserve the creativity of Thiago for after the 60 minute mark when legs are tiring and spaces appear - Alcantara thrives on spaces, and early on Arsenal will deny him that. It'll be tight this one, I think. I doubt we will lose, but I'm worried we'll add another draw to the already too long list of draws. Nervy times. Exciting but nervy.
Arsenal XI: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Lacazette, Martinelli. Diaz v Cedtic could be interesting plus on set pieces they look a bit short defensively as White is pretty short for a CB pair .
I think we will have to be a lot better than we have been in the last few games to win this. It will be a big test
I can't wait for the season to be over so I don't have to look at that yellow fast-food burger kit. Surely next year's away kits won't be so offensive on the eyes.
Have to say in the first ten mins we seem to look the better side. They have some dangerous breaks though.
