If the other teams win all their matches they will still be above us as they are now, so it’s definitely not in our hands.
That can only happen if we don't beat Oxford, which is clearly in our own hands. If we beat them it's entirely in our hands.
You have a different opinion on what in our hands mean. If we fail to beat Oxford then we are likely to miss out but it was still in our hands to go out and beat them. Agree to disagree what is classed as in our hands I think mate.
Of course it's in our hands just as much as Oxford's. Any league is based on mathematics. If Oxford were 4 points ahead it would be out of our hands because even a win wouldn't be enough. It's mathematically possible for us to finish higher than Oxford ... ... that's all that counts, not opinions or speculation.
When the teams above us plus the one with games in hand of us can’t secure more points than we can, then it’s in our hands as long as they can it isn’t.
Sorry but you're just wrong. Our fate is in our own hands because we can secure a play off spot without needing help from any other club/results. That's the very definition of 'in your own hands' ... ... if you don't understand that's fine.
to be fair marra, you never said it was definite...just a strong possibility, which it was i am struggling to see why some cannot understand it is in our own hands...somewhere along the line, some will lose points to others in play off positions (either 'lose' all 3 or 'lose' 2 each in a draw), should we keep picking the points up then it is in our own hands...simple!!
Beating Oxford is in our own hands. If we do that they can only get above us by gaining more points than us ... ... that's in our own hands. Therefore its in our own hands, if it wasn't we'd be needing snooker which we don't.
yep, this is just as true...over the years we have many times gone into the final day not knowing our 'fate' so until that final whistle of the season everything is just speculation.
It's always just speculation for every club, in every league, until they're either relegated or promoted. However there's a difference between being able to achieve your goal purely by your own results and needing other results to go your way. We're currently in column A.
It's simple maths, at the very start of every season our team can win the league by beating all the other teams twice. By winning every game no other team can do the same, therefore nothing depends on the results achieved by any other team. By definition it's in our hands. That would be one hell of a season!
It always was, you were right. It's now in our own hands to go above Plymouth in the same way we did with Oxford. I'd say Plymouth are under more pressure than us and, as we did at Wigan and Oxford, we can use that to our advantage. I hope Pritchard is back, it's more cohesive when he plays imo.
