Good Morning. It's Tuesday 15th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road D-Day for Augustin decision The hearing relating to the transfer dispute between RB Leipzig and Leeds will finally be heard by the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) today. The Bundesliga outfit claim that Leeds owe them £17.6m (21 million Euros) for the signature of Jean-Kevin Augustin. The former French U21 striker signed on loan for the Whites during the 2020 January transfer window having missed out on Che Adams. Leeds agreed to make the deal permanent, should they win promotion by June 30th. Augustin arrived at Elland Road out of shape, unfit and out of form, and lasted just three games, accumulating 47 minutes of pitch time. Radrizzani's lawyers found a loophole in the contract that would see them try to nullify the agreement. They argue that as the season extended beyond the June 30th cut off day, they should be able to walk away from the deal. Should Leeds have to pay up, it could have a devastating effect on their Summer transfer kitty or could even be the difference between having to part with one of their star players in the Summer, or not! Obviously, however you look at the situation, Leeds did not do their homework properly, and someone should be held accountable! The 25yo was stretchered off with a serious knee injury during the 3-0 defeat against Villa last week, and will miss the remainder of the season. Firpo has been disappointing since his 12.8m move last Summer. Apart from collecting nine yellow cards from his 15 appearances, the former Barcelona defender has not made much of an impact on the pitch. If rumours are true, a lower La Liga outfit such as Getafe would be a realistic option for him. The one time England striker has missed the majority of the season with various ailments, and it was thought that having played thirty minutes just three days previously, that forty-five minutes against Norwich was 'enough'. "First of all, very happy with Patrick, thought he had a very impactful 45 minutes, satisfied that that's all we needed to get out of him. "Maybe 60 minutes might have been too much and it was pretty clear at half-time that was enough," "I would guess that Patrick is fine," "I think we just could see that physically, it [45 minutes] was enough." please log in to view this image
The Big Kev thing will not end today if Leeds are told to pay up, because Leeds will go to law and argue that they were sold faulty goods in effect. JKA went to France and within a fortnight was sent to train with the kids because he wasnt fit to play. He then moved down to the 3rd tier of French football and even then couldnt do more than 30 minutes. Its 3 years on and he is just now back with the first team, but injured again. Something has been seriously wrong with Big Kev, and underlying health problem that no club has picked up, but I believe they have a handle on it now but the lad has lost 3 seasons of football because of it, not because Leeds refused to sign him, because he was ill or in other words faulty On the subject of Joffy, one scouse about another: Carragher said about Gelhardt: “He is a special, special talent. He will be remembered for this big goal, but I assure you we will be talking about him a lot in a few years’ time.”
Morning all Be very surprised if we were able to get out of the Augustin deal, but fingers crossed. As for Firpo 12.8m just blown, a very poor player with poor positional sense, now who to replace him?, well anyone off this board would be an improvement , that's 30m blown on just those two and ultimately that's down to Orta.
Morning all Augustin, deep down we all know the club is guilty, we’ll end up paying one way or another, we were in the wrong, someone at the club made a huge mistake in both the offer and medical assessment. No problem here with Bamford playing 45 minutes, I wonder how different it would have been with Bielsa as he definitely wouldn’t have considered him for enough to start I can’t believe how much money we’ve wasted in the transfer market, depending on how much we can get back Firpo is the largest waste of money since….. Augustin
Nightmare season because if i juries and to cap it off we only have a few players out on loan but 3 of them are back at TA receiving treatment. Poveda with a bad ankle break and torn ligaments, maybe going back to Blackburn soon but season over effectivley and been out for months now. Bad knee damage to Bogutsz who has had an operation 2 weeks ago season over and now Bobby Kamwa sent back from Dunfermline with a bad foot.
I can’t see that we have any chance of arguing faulty goods. He passed a medical, we’ve even pulled out of a transfer of a player due to their medical and we sanctioned his signing. It will come down to the contract. Did it expire on 30th June or the end of the extended season caused by Covid. Possibly Berardi is important. If he signed an extension to play the last few games we can point to that, if not and his contract was until the season ended we’re screwed.
Good Morning to Matt Doc Wj etc from a sunny Bardsey I do hope now Gelderd will be given more game time he could be our salvationif they are good enough they are old enough! Fripo has been another floppoand I doubt we will get much for him lets hope Rodrigo is about to be coming goodI think this is due to Jesse. As for Austine I think that we were sold a pup and that he was not fit for purpose
Most amazing stat for me is how has failpro accumulated 9 yellows from 15 games he isn't exactly a David batty in the tackle....oh hang on his timing is waaaaaay out, replacement needed......big kev maybe
Good morning my thoughts for a replacement for firpo is billys statue. It would do a far better job all round. This fat kev thing is another orta balls up. Rads goes on about money and then wastes it on those two. Orta was blubbering at the end on sunday. Was it caused by sheer relief after his cock ups.
Replacement for Firpo, this won't be popular but if Burnley go down I think we should go for Charlie Taylor. Has impressed me every time I see them play.
But whose fault is that. We didn't do our homework. What stops us from asking Barca for our 13m back cos Firpo's ****e
Big Kev has underlying health issues that were not known or picked up by Leipzig ? But they couldnt wait to loan him out to Monaco as his form dropped. Monaco quickly agreed to allow him leave fir Leeds. In other words he passed medicals at Monaco, Leeds and Nantes with whatever health probs he had. Too many on here love having a go at Orta and to be frank know fk all and even Phil Hay says the average strike rate for scouting and buying is 30% and Orta has a much better ratio than that if you discount his initial but hundreds for £3
You said phil hay was clueless and now you are using him as an example. Orta spent a lot of money on duds it's well known. You just made this up.
Sometimes Wakey you talk total bollox. Try using google for Phil Hay comments on anything especially when broadcast on his podcast. Also the Square Ball boys spent time with Orta. You jusy enjoy gobbing off about the club owner and directors, even when they do what you want them to do like sacking Bielsa and your hard on for Marsch. As for Phil Hay hes a gobshyte but when he does an interview with someone important to the club and fans why ignore it? Even a clock is right twice a day
How selfish can you get Chelsie the club have asked the FA if they can play their cup game against Middlesbrough behind closed doors because they will not have fans there to support their team (Tough) If the FA give way to this request then they prove they are not fit for purpose, as if proof were needed
