It could be my opinion that the Earth is flat* - but it would be wrong. *It isn't my opinion, btw. As to the first part of your post - it's a debate. It's not about changing his opinion, it's about putting one's own forward. Why do people feel their opinions are sacrosanct?
One question, then. In what area of the pitch can you get nowhere near the ball, clean out an opponent, and escape punishment?
Whether we like it or not, goal keepers can get away with a bit more because they are expected to try save the ball use their arms, make themselves big, block the shots. How many times do you see a keeper come through and smash through a forward to punch a ball clear or catch it? Yet at same time everyone was telling me that Sanchez tackle on Fabinho was a clear yellow even though he won the ball because he hit the man. So what is it, you are allowed to smash into player as long as you get the ball? Or you can’t? Or is it that it’s generally accepted that goal keepers are treated differently because they aren’t trying to make tackles per say, but they’re just trying to get some touch on the ball.
Also it’s not like I’ve been saying it was a clean tackle btw. I think it was a definite yellow, border line red
until you are stood in a position where you can see the whole planet with your own eyes and not a camera or other such medium it still is not a certainty (not my belief) but it is still based on other things and as such there is still the smallest possible chance that there is some sort of conspiracy and that the earth is indeed flat after all if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around … yada yada yada it’s not a debate as people are saying he is wrong He is entitled to his belief as are others I would go so far as to say he is right as the only opinion that mattered was the ref and he agreed with IBWT. we can debate it but the fact will always stand that the decision was no pen and unlike the handball at Goodison the other week PGMOL have backed the decision and explained why its correct
Me too for the record but I can’t categorically prove it I am basing that on lots of other stuff like facts lmao I will be honest it’s all getting too deep for me I just had some empathy for you cause I could see where you were coming from still thought it was a red but only cause Mane’s one was And I learnt my lesson fighting the power on here well I thought I had but seems I was mistaken lmao
You're right that keepers get away with a lot - but I think there's a difference between a goalmouth melee where a keeper comes through a crowd, and a direct one-on-one where he rushes out of his goal to confront an opponent. He has to get that right.
The shape of the Earth (whatever that shape may be) is a fact - not an opinion. There are many irrefutable ways to infer that shape without seeing it from space. And the tree in the forest is nothing more than semantic trickery, and not a genuine conundrum.
Well, jokes on all of you, the earth is really cone shaped. Antarctica is actually covered in vanilla ice cream, not ice and snow. Penguins wouldn't hang out there if it was snow not ice cream.
Like I said, the shape - whatever it is - is a fact, not an opinion. Of course you have to back up your claims with evidence, so bring me a penguin that admits that's why he's there and I'm with you. Flat-Earthers think penguins are armed NASA employees patrolling the ice-wall to prevent us from discovering "The Truth". please log in to view this image
