A nervy 0-0 for 86 minutes with a late winner.....but for who....nervous as ****...but shouldn't be. ****, just thinking of that smug faced **** Smith if they win.
But unless you’re on a wind-up, in your world all the good things Bielsa did for the club don’t exist.
I loved Bielsa as much as anyone else if not more, but the board were faced with a decision, certain relegation or a slim chance of survival, hence the appointment of Marsch. Now that was a massive result yesterday Brentford beating Burnley, now gives us another straw, a win today would really ramp up the pressure on Dyche & Burnley, their games in hand would/must be converted to wins to give them hope, and i don't think they have the players to do it. The long & short of it a win today would put our survival firmly back in our own hands. C'MON LEEDS let's do this
Bielsa has surely earned the club more money than any other manager or coach in our history with the promotion? Sadly for us we spent poorly in our first season back and even worse in our second, throw in the loyalty Bielsa showed to the current crop and it’s the two main reasons for our current situation. If we can win today we’ll have a glimmer of hope, each day at a time I guess but survival in this division or relegation, it matters not which it is, our biggest problem will be next season clearing some dross and starting afresh. For me Orta has to go either way, I blame him and Bielsa equally for the transfer failiures
We are where we are pointless starting the blame game unless you don’t agree with me I read somewhere the other day that Kinnear admitted that they made a pigs ear of Bielsa leaving and introducing Jesse in other words couldn’t run a piss up in a brewery People will believe what they want but I don’t believe all that we are told I don’t believe all this talk about the players offered to Bielsa and that he turned them down don’t forget Radz made it perfectly clear in December that we were skint A win today is a must don’t care who gets the credit as long as we get 3 points
Bielsa wanted a small squad. Too small a squad for prem football. He sent the players out to get thrashed every week. Totally out of his depth at this level.
No. I believe its much bigger. I think the club is at a crucial point in time and in numerous areas. When you change managers in these circumstances you want a bounce. The bounce largely depends on the first couple of games. We played well at Leicester and lost. We were noticeably worse against Villa. If the players ignore the system like we did last 35 minutes against Villa today then it's clear that they have not taken to the manager and its curtains for him at the club. It won't work. The guy is on a long contract and ultimately we will have to pay him off. A result of the above scenario short term is that we will go down, and probably bottom of the league. Long term financially its bad. Many players will not play Championship football (Meslier, Llorente, Koch, Firpo, Phillips, Rodrigo, Raphinha, Bamford) and will leave. We still have fat Kev to sort out. We will be left with a load of 30 something Championship players and the 23's. It's a big turnover of players with limited funds and a manager nobody believes in. Ground zero. If we win, the players (and managers) confidence would take a boost and allow us to play with a tiny bit more freedom. That would give the players a little more respect for the new coach and his system and allow them to commit to it. If it leads us to staying up, we'll that keeps the money rolling in. Stadium development, a summer to address the squad depth and let Marsch bring in his own players for next season. I honestly believe today's game is a massive sliding doors moment for our club and where it goes from here. If the players don't commit today, they won't for the remainder of the season.
I will hopefully be watching and after i will know which players we should keep. If we lose then so be it and that is not a problem. The problem is the owners and orta. It will be plain to see what needs doing to refresh this small and aging squad.
It's not just poor performances lately, but jesus, we certainly need a change of luck/fortune as that has been nearly as bad as our performances. As i am just fed up with seeing an opposing player shooting, meslier got it covered, then it comes off one of our own defenders foot/arses to end up in the back of the net.
Pay the coach off? Really oh come on it will not happen. If we go down i will be happy to see half of this squad leave. The players are not bigger than the club but two think they are. Rodrigo and raph can go for me.
