My first game for 2 years, and after 60 mins i was thinking why did i bother. but 3 points is 3 points.
Another absolutely minging performance. Stuck on our heels and in 2nd gear from the 1st min. The ref didn't help, nor did Crewe's Fleetwood-esque time wasting but 3 good substitutions and 2 good goals mean it's job done. I DO worry about our performances as any decent team in the play offs will tear us apart but hopefully AN is building some momentum. He HAS to drop Evans though. Haven't a clue what he brings to the team
that's a first for me by the ref, why give a free kick in their area for time wasting ? good on him i if had been in charge on tues god knows what he would have give us, well another win, clean sheet but going to need about 78 points this season for the play offs or win at either Plymouth or Oxford. but you have to realise the play offs are nearly two months off will Sheff W/Oxford be as good then and we we be better ?
I didn't go today because of a family thing. Didn't hear or see anything in real time, only the goal updates on my watch. From what I have taken from it, loads of possession, played ****e, played in our away kit .... won 2-0?
If Wigan would've done the same in the last 15 mins we'd all been saying go til end etc etc. Why are we any different? Got the job done move on.
Only one team turned up to play football today. We eventually found a way to break them down and win the game, so I'm happy with the ugly win.
Class. Rather play ****e and win. I can think of times in the not so distant past where we would've lost that in a 1-0 sucker punch.
I'm not saying you're wrong but it was hardly the game for him today, Stewart was being fouled too much to win many flick ons and that was pretty much all we were attempting. Defoe won't have forgotten how to finish if we can find him in the box occasionally.
To me this was like an FA cup game where they just wanted to survive. played 7 -3 with the 3 10 yards inside their own half... many prem teams would struggle to break that down ... job done move on .
people have laughed at me when i say i used to really enjoy it when crewe came to town, almost always guaranteed a good game worth the ticket money and while they were probably 'punching' at the time, they always tried to play football and never tried to hide...of course, that was when dario was in charge. last two games alone have shown why we need to get out of this league, still too many teams try to rely on ****housery in the hope of grabbing a point or sucker punch goal (when most are capable of playing some good stuff) and breaking the game up every few seconds...have your lads play the game and if they lose at least they can hold thier heads up high.
Sorry to say that I agree, but hope I’m wrong and a few more games will see him sharpen up. At the moment his reactions seem sluggish. He may know what he wants to do but the messaging service from brain to body needs a a squirt of WD40.
