It's an unknown. Don't know which way it would go tbh. Maybe deals would be done about EU membership, and I can see the Kurds being thrown under the bus to get Turkey on side. But then again, the West have kept their cards very close to their chest about Erdogan. They may just switch on him and give him an ultimatum.
jesus, lucky no one was hurt this could have triggered a war between nuclear powers https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-60711653
This government is absolute scum btw. ****s. Hope they rot in their own faeces the way they've abandoned the refugees.
It's all very odd, I heard of claims of security risks, but my own thoughts are, all I've seen flee the Ukraine is women and children, this isn't like Afghanistan, because the men are not allowed to leave. The only men I've seen leave are British and German, because their nationality would allow them to. So I ask how are women and very young children a risk, yes, if you get a male, question it, but otherwise I'm not seeing a problem. I do ask though, why women and children would want to trek across Europe to get to the UK, I assume it's family, so again not a risk and I'd imagine the numbers to be low.
A couple of things here. We are taking military planes over with aid and military equipment. Why not just pile on all the women and children for the empty flights back? We can do that quickly, have a massive impact, and there really is no security risk in doing this. Secondly, I look at all the balkan states around Ukraine and the numbers they're taking in. We have to do our bit if only to help the pressures being put upon them. It's to help those countries as much as it is about the refugees themselves. And it's also a reason why the excuse that refugees should go to the first safe country they come to, completely unfair and immoral imo. At the end of the day, I think it's all just excuses tbh. We just don't want them. Or should I say certain individuals in the government don't want them. There are many tory MPs who don't share that view tbf so it really is certain ppl in the cabinet.
I like your first sentence there, also it would be easy to ensure no men are boarding the flight, so it would be all women and young children, I've got absolutely no problem with us doing that. As with Afghanistan, my qualm has only ever been about men (with the exception of old frail men), this is clearly not the problem with the Ukraine, as the Ukranian army turn the men away at their side of the border.
Anyway, some good news for a change, I'm sure some of you remember the hospital being bombed, with the big crater in the ground. The scene showing a woman being carried away on a stretcher, who was giving birth at the time. Mum and baby is doing well... please log in to view this image
Afghanistan was a panic. Planes landing inside the country on a runway being defended by soldiers. It was chaos. No such problem landing in Poland, Romania or even western Ukraine itself. No chaos, very organised, get the women and children on. So why aren't we doing it? Because they don't want refugees here. It's anything and everything to make it as difficult as possible. That's what I think anyway.
Putin seeking Syrian fighters to join his assault in Ukraine https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60705486
Aye, that could lead to a billion dead. Even a "Small" number of nuclear warheads like those two countries possess is believed to be enough to start a global nuclear winter.
Is it just my imagination or are America being gutless little ****s in this conflict For all his faults Trump would have at least shown how big his red button was with a serious message to Putin The more America holds back the more Putin will push boundaries until it is too late to pull back I see on another post confirmation on an earlier post of mine about Putin trying to recruit "Freedom Fighters ' from the middle east to try and make the West hold back If it really does kick off then first Nuke on the Kremlin and the second on Mecca
Trump wanted to stroke Putin's cock though mate. Based on the fact that Russia helped him get elected in the first place.
I can imagine Trump (if he was still in power) coming out with some bullshit about how Putin has the right to invade Ukraine to protect his own security interests.
