Alexi Mordashov possibly the richest man in russia, owns around 30% of TUI, thompson are part of that group. go on a thompson flight , go on a thompson holiday and you are putting money in his big big pocket.
Our owners mam is Russian. The one who now has one hand on the purse strings I suspect. Now I'm of the understanding that she inherited the money from her husband when he died. Just putting it out there wondering how the current state of affairs could effect our club?
She was Russian but has not lived there for many years She was something like a computer sales rep who met her (very rich) Swiss husband to be while on a flight , she will have no contact with Russia It should not effect our club at all
It's not necessarily Russians mind, in fact it's not them at all. It's those very small number of billionaires who have been enabled by Putin and have supported him for years . My mate's wife is Russian as it happens. I phoned him last week, as I rarely see him now and asked how she was taking all this. All he said was her contempt for Putin and his allies was still there. I can remember her hating him years ago! She's been in England about fifteen years now I think, so it looks like she got out before he had real traction ( permanently that is, she was already here working as a uni tutor) .
See some of them back away when the shirtless punched that bloke (probably the owner of the bar/cafe they destroyed) after they were giving it tha hard men. Pricks to a man, all of them. I see the green lite for the sale has been given. Probably end up with someone richer than the Mags owners. Teams like Chelsea get mega rich owners twice in a lifetime.
I was reading an interesting article the other day. It CLAIMED that since The Russian Revolution their has been no handing down of wealth to the next Generation. If, by some fluke, you got rich, the State or The Party, (same thing really), snaffled it.. Until this kicked off, this looked to have changed. Now, backing Putin could Seriously Damage Your Wealth. And the Kids of the Wealthy Russian Elite are very aware of this and almost as unhappy about it as their parents. I can see some very expensive London Properties being on the Market soon, along with some 'Super-yachts', and if Cyprus, a place I'm very fond of, follows the US and Uk Sanction rules, their coffers will be overflowing. They might even be able to repay their citizens what they had to take from them. Personaly I'd like to see the proceeds from the sale of Assets sold under these Sanction Rules, (whatever these turn out to be), sent to Ukraine to pay for some of the damage caused. If the War is lost by Ukraine, then pay it out to the Refugees.
That would be the ultimate kick in the teeth and humiliation for the bastards, their own money paying for the damage they’ve done.
I’ve been wondering what will happen to the cash from the sale as it’s all a built vague and passing the funds onto Ukraine so they can rebuild would be exactly the right thing to do. However, I have no doubt our government will somehow find a way of keeping hold of a proportion.
Italian police SEIZE the world's biggest sailing yacht - Sailing Yacht A - as Russian oligarch owner Andrey Melnichenko becomes the latest to be hit by sanctions. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...t-sailing-yacht-owned-Andrey-Melnichenko.html
He said he'd named it after his wife, Alexandra ... ... Mrs Smug reckoned it was to be first in the yacht register like a taxi firm. She hated him, and particularly his mother, so much she's just insisted on opening a bottle of bubbly
