****ing hell, bit strong, that <laugh>

On the other hand, it seems a bit harsh that Chelsea are sanctioned and not this lot.

If Salisu is back we can play our normal game but if he's not we have a choice to make. We either try and play our normal game trusting Valery to play as part of a CB pairing alongside Stephens, or we change formation and play 3 at the back. I really don't think we can play Stephens and Bednarek together, they just don't work as a CB pairing. If we didn't want to go 3 at the back I suppose we could also add Diallo into the middle to try and protect the CBs a bit more but not hugely keen on that idea unless JWP and Romeu aren't winning the midfield like they normally do.

Let's just hope Salisu is back!

Unfortunately there is big old money loop with the Saudis . We give them money for oil and they give up loads of it back for planes, ships, missiles etc

It isn’t quite as true with Russia. Also the Saudis aren’t knocking on the door with NATO or anyone we have a strong alliance with. If they marched into Israel next week then maybe it would be different

Russia took a step too far. This may seem galling for people who look over at Yemen. I have even seen suggestions of structural racism being involved in the difference in response. As with these things - it really isn’t that simple. And those try to make it simple just don’t understand. They live up to those memes about “I’m done being an expert on vaccines…”

    Welcome to our world then!

SFC have spent many seasons 'struggling', with a lack of quality or "utter horse****e" as you rightly call it. But, in general, our "core support" has been strong, passionate..... in a word~ fee-nominal (err, tho' No Money)

Just for balance, we have on occasions been unable to field a full subs bench..... even with TWO GOALKEEPERS on it! Or had litte or no 1st teamer experience on the bench ~ did you see our 0-9 calamity at Old Trafford? BUT Saints fans sang there hearts out, yelled their encouragement for the players and made all SFC on--field players feel proud to be part of our club

Mohammed Bin Salman heads the reputation-whitewash wealth fund that now owns you. Here is detail of what happened to a Washington Post journalist who opposed him. You know, used words that upset him. It's a grim read but I'm sure you'd like to know all about the man who owns your football club.

Quote from Wikipedia: "Khashoggi entered the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul on 2 October 2018[78] to obtain documents related to his planned marriage, but no CCTV recorded him exiting.[8][79] Amid news reports claiming that he had been dismembered with a bone saw inside the consulate,[80][81] he was declared a missing person.[82] Saudi Arabian and Turkish officials inspected the consulate on 15 October, during which Turkish officials found evidence that Khashoggi had been killed and that chemical experts had tampered with evidence.[83][84]

In November, the CIA concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had ordered Khashoggi's assassination."

Sorry it's not lighthearted footy bantz but you're owned by a vicious murderer whitewashing his reputation. I find it hard to make a joke out of that but I'm sure you'll find a way. Find me a funny meme about that, BoB, and I'll pop it over to Khashoggi's fiancee for you.

    Yes terrible.

You've not done your research thoroughly enough im afraid.

There's no link then because he has been proven legally to have no involvement in nufc and it's not state run either.

Shouldn't we be asking questions about this countries dealings with Saudi for arms supplying them rather than a few quid going to a football team? I'm interested to know how vocal you've been on that over the years?, im assuming you have been. Did you stop supporting England?

Maybe choose a user name with more care then, because that’s where the billions is being spent, as well as buying football clubs.

Do our fans go and troll other teams forums on match days as well? Because trolling is very much what it is.

I suppose an extra benefit of us thrashing them this evening will be an absence of trolls tomorrow.

    Please, Saints.

Yep all for a bit of banter, but not pages and pages of it. Can't be arsed to even discuss the game on here atm as just get trolled, so I'll just go tonight and keep my thoughts to myself.

Just engage with posts about the game from Saints fans and ignore others if you don't want to get involved in cross team banter or trolling or whatever it is.

I can see this being a tight game, and my optimism about us getting a result is quite reliant on Salisu given that without him it completely threw us off against Villa and we didn't adjust to not having that aggressive dominant player at the back. Newcastle are going to be very confident and despite their form coming during a run of 'easier fixtures', they've still done enough to win them all. Hope we are fired up for it and win but can see it being a draw tonight.

Not really it's a drop in the ocean at nufc compared with the arms trade

I posted quite a bit on the original match thread but must admit I am a bit more reluctant this time now that Chaos (Billions and Billions) has joined in. I enjoy the cross board discussions that go with match threads but don't like the idea of an invasion to wind the other team up. It's your board after all.

From my point of view, it is good to get the perspective of the opposition fans on a game though. Unfortunately this one seems to have a lot of baggage attached to it - mainly from an apparent Twitter war after the first game was postponed from what I can tell.

And Saudi Arabia spends more on arms as a percentage of GDP than any other country.
