These large organisations can be criticised by their varying actions/sanctions but they are doing something. Everyday Russians will see retail outlets closing down in their towns and cities and have to question why. Credit to those still paying their staff (and trying not to punish their staff - who will surely have to have the reasons explained). Every person arrested for speaking out/protesting will be known by a number of friends, family and acquaintances- all of who will be aware of the reasons. Mothers of soldiers will be hearing stories and talking to family. All of these will be asking questions of their nation - as we saw from the video of mothers questioning Russia’s actions. It was interesting to hear the growing pressure from Twitter impacting some of the large organisations e.g. Coke and McDonalds. You can only suppress the people for so long (how long in Russia? I have no idea). Sense of deception will undoubtedly grow the longer this goes on and more and more sanctions happen. We have to keep the pressure building - while there is no option to defend militarily - and not let things slide.
Spot on. Completely agree. Any gesture no matter how small has an effect. Putins people will ultimately bring him down. Amongst all the death and carnage caused by this, it may change Russia for the better? The west will dictate what sort of person they want in the future. The World has moved on and doesn't have time for cold war dictators.
Latest trauma for Labour - they have no idea what a woman is. Aniseed Dodds had a go at a definition and ended up with her foot in her mouth. Yvette Cooper refuses to be drawn. Concerning, given that women make up a large part of the electorate.
I wanted to post about Dodds interview she had the other day. Jesus what a dumb f### she is. She spent the whole interview “Tory this, Tory that” and never answered question about Ukraine. Unelectable.
You really do talk some cr@p Watford. Just because his name is Boris doesn't make him some KGB puppet. You need to get iff the stuff mate... or at least give some to the rest of us so we can understand you.
You can't judge a person by what his father might or might not done, Watford. Otherwise, Stalin's daughter, who moved to America and became a naturalised citizen, would have been condemned for doing nothing.
As much as most, I guess. Lebedev's not one of Putin's cronies. He's been in the UK from the age of 8 and obviously is a successful businessman. You cannot persecute people just because they have Russian parentage. Is there something specific about the guy that worries you?
He won't be the first Lord to have paid the government of the day for his position. Tory and Labour. Remember Blair's Cash for Honours scandal? If you say the whole system needs reform I'd agree with you. Don't just single out Lebedev because he has Russian blood.
Yeah he’s mates with a supernonce like Johnson. We’re punishing all sorts of Russians just for being Russian. Paralympic athletes for example. This **** has the ear of our supposed Prime Minister.
No, the paralympics team were excluded because the represent Russian under Putin. Lebedev has British/dual nationality.
