I love our country, but I hate what the Tories have done to it and how we look to the rest of the world as a result.

We are being run by Russian sponsored stooges, with the worst of them in charge.

Astonishing how our resident Womble seems to be doing little to clean up Wimbledon Common and instead posting lots of Twatter comments by Remainers – easily identified by the EU flag icon – still grumbling about their Referendum defeat six years ago.

I responded to an Italian Remainer the other week pointing out how well Italy was doing in the Euro straitjacket, unable to devalue their currency, their banking system in total collapse and unemployment 9 per cent.

The Sky News article does not really stick to the reality of the situation. Since the oil is being delivered, it was paid for months ago. “War fears push up UK petrol prices” is nonsense. ‘War fears’ push up oil prices would be more accurate.

The price of oil is a future contract market. The oil currently being priced at over $100 a barrel is for future delivery. The ubiquitous images of petrol station signs merely illustrate the crooked way that petrol is not priced according to material cost.

At my local Asda, the petrol is 149.7p a litre whilst at the Shell station half a mile away it is 160.9p. A week ago, it was 144.7p when I last bought some at Asda. The price has tracked upwards with the oil price but this petrol was refined from oil bought months ago at a much cheaper price. When the price of oil falls we all know that the petrol price falls much more slowly (profiteering). If the petrol companies were forced to sell petrol relative to the cost of the oil it was refined from then the consumer would be able to fill their tank at the low points and ration themselves at the high points (especially if you pretty much only use the car for occasional long journeys like myself).

As far as I am aware there is no reporting of oil shortages yet. The last time that there was scaremongering it was BP and there was no shortage of oil but there was a shortage of drivers to deliver the petrol to filling stations; and the scaremongering led to stupid people queuing to fill their cars, running the filling stations dry. Then images of cars queuing for petrol became mainstream news.

    Source please.

No facts in evidence (as usual) from the loony Left.

Where is that Jessica Simor QC when you need her? Probably off stopping some Channel dinghy immigrants from being deported because it would infringe their human right to free four star hotel accommodation and benefits paid for by British taxpayers along with her legal aid bill.

So really what has happened here is that Andrew Neil has read the Sunday Telegraph, which has got the figures from the Foreign Office – which should know how many assets have been frozen in this country as it is part of the government that froze them – and regurgitated it for the masses on Twitter who may not have access to the online paper.

I am just confirming this as I do have access to it: Quote “The Foreign Office revealed the UK had frozen a total of £258.8 billion of bank assets, compared to £240 billion by the US and £33.8 billion by the EU.” No real surprise that Pompey has not read the article and posted a link to a page of brain dead lefties moaning on Twatter about Rees Mogg using the same statistics to draw a graph and how the Tories were helping oligarchs hide their money in the UK. <doh>

The article goes on to state that when the emergency legislation for the economic crime bill gets through Parliament, sanctions against specific oligarchs will increase.

The reason that so many financial assets are to be found in Britain is because London is still the financial capital of Europe, even though Project Fear claimed that Paris/Frankfurt would assume that mantle after Brexit. I wonder what action Swiss banks are taking and how much foreign reserve China has stashed in the UK and Switzerland.
