It has. Some like the faith it's fair enough. But reality has to be considered. Safc are in the big reality cloud now. Very touch and go if we make okay offs.

2 home games. 6 points needed against poor opposition.

That's a really daft thing to say tbh.

No one is accepting being in L1 or thinking everything's fine.

Not being happy with things doesn't mean automatically giving up.

What do you suggest people do, just not bother.

We're not the best side and didn't score despite playing well ...

... but Sheff Wed showed today how fallible teams can be.

I'm expecting a convincing win on Tuesday which will put us fifth and set us up for seven points in a week including today ...

... I'm angry at being in this league but have no option but to keep hoping, nor do you tbh.

By my reckoning we need 7 wins to make play offs, from 10 games. That would be a hell of a run and mean we are the team to beat in the play offs. Hate to say it but I cant see that happening. God I hope I am wrong. I still just feel these players are short of what we all want them to be. If Pritchard is out I think we are in a hole again. The fall off has been horrendous and whilst there are signs we are improving in my opinion we are not one of the best sides in this division. I think Wigan and Rotherham will be top two. MK Dons look a top side and Oxford look the part too. Plymouth look a side to me back on the rise again. January was a prime example of how to shoot yourself in the foot, sadly. I just think we are behind the 8 ball, all of our own making. I will happily eat all the humble pie in the world when O am wrong, and believe me I hope more than anything I am.

We could then and we can now. What absolutely nobody saud was that we would. Having hope is what keeps me going. I hope we can go up automatically. Still mathematically possible despite you seemingly claiming that it isn’t.

We played well today. You could comfortably see improvement in the games the lads are having. I don’t think we’ll go up automatically nor did anyone last week. They (we) hoped, but nobody thought or thinks it would happen. I’ll keep hoping and having a positive mindset instead of being told what to think by you.

Sunderland not finishing in the play offs would be a disastrous level of incompetence and I would expect the notice of speakman to be in before his arse is fired. It's in real danger too. 2022 has been the lowest this club has ever performed.

Im routing for our 'mini' season started two games ago, we looked decent & big push in this mini season.

AN took a couple of games trying different formations, hopefully hes sussed his options & how he can change us

In my head we need to remain positive while we have a chance as the other option is accept were here for another year, i cant acceot that while we have a chance & i have see positives last 2 games. us in the playoffs never ends well BUT if we can enter them on a bit of form no reason we cant go up, we have so many cycles to break lets KTF we can change the playoff one this year

We have to end in them first. I can see some positives but there is no way yday was a positive. No one would have took a point and out of the play offs yday so it's not a positive.

I can see positive patterns and such but not putting the ball away , Ross only, has been a worry all season and yday followed that pattern. Big 2 games coming up now.

At the beginning of the season i think most would have said a point away to Charlton was a good result

That would assume that they would not be bottom of near the bottom of the table , getting humped most weeks. Their decline has been significant too. We played ok yday just had to get the win.

That's the play off lottery. Gives you that last chance and roll of the dice.

Think we have more home than away games left. Have to take advantage of that.

@Prehab26 - I accept the season has 75% gone and we need to start again - what’s your sense about stabilising the off field car crash & all of the associated angst re Madrox etc - seems to me we’ll not be successful on the field without our off field team working well too?

I don't see the play-offs as a lottery tbh, it's as much a league competition as this one. You don't even have to win a game, in normal time, to go up.

Broadhead, once he's match fit, and Stewart will win us games imo. If Pritchard is out we'll need Neil, Embleton or even McGeady to set them up and take care of dead balls. Our defence, in the last two games has suddenly looked solid and Cirkin has refound his form. Matete has brought in what was lacking in midfield imo, he even seems to have helped Evans improve. We seem more balanced as a team, more than before imo.

With four of the next five games at home I'm hopeful we can improve our confidence and momentum.

2 clean sheets in a row, yes i know there doimg badly, but wigan also didnt look like scoring, looked fitter, pressed ball for full 90 mins, looked to play the game in there half. there my positives

negative yesterday - we didnt work the keeper enough, Stewart should have had a couple, need to improve on chances created from open play.

its something to build on in the remaining games which there are enough of for us to be in form when we enter them.

thats obviously depending on us building om the last two games. fingers crossed.

you heard any positive noise in the background at the club? As a poster few on says we need on & off field sorting

Not being rude mate but there's a specific thread for all this Madrox stuff.

I don't know what other people think but it's been discussed to death and this is a match thread.

We all want Madrox out and it will happen sooner or later but, as you say, there's a promotion place to concentrate on.

I think it was Bob Murray’s fault. Or maybe even Tom Cowie
