Yes, I've heard rumors that it's happened since I wrote it. I have absolutely no words for how angry it makes me or what I would have done to them if I got hold of them.

Found the last 10 days quite upsetting to be honest my old man and uncles fought to stop this **** happening and it appears the powers that be think it's fine to allow annexation to be fine again. Putin and his cronies need sorting ASAP can't see Ukraine being the end for the ****er.....

Whilst I agree about finding the situation upsetting what do you propose the west does about it
In my opinion the writing was on the wall when and the way the yanks pulled out of Afghanistan can just see Putin rubbing his hands when it happened

No fly zone , if we allow this to continue Europe is putting itself in serious danger anyway in the long term..

Genuinely understand the stance being taken but unfortunately we aren't dealing with a sane individual

Or when Trump pulled the plug and ran out on Syria (requiring the USAF to bomb the USA's own bases because they bugged out so fast)

In reality the Russian invasion of the Ukraine is not connected at all to Afghanistan.

The West (NATO) is doing pretty much all it can. Zelensky is saying NATO is not doing enough and should declare Ukraine to be a no fly zone for Russian aircraft.
He's just a desperate man though.
A no-fly zone over the Ukraine, means NATO shooting down Russian planes....and that means direct conflict between NATO and Russia, and that means world war.

You may as well declare the Ukraine to be a no tank zone.

The West just needs to trash the Russian economy, and keep supplying armament's/food/medical supplies.

We need to teach Russia a larger lesson and deter them from future desire to invade and rule, we also need to show China what might happen if they go full tilt on Taiwan. If China does hit Taiwan you’ll see a melt down of world economies as production lines grind to a halt with no availability of microchips.

Russia and the West, Russia is like the playground bully kicking the smaller kids to the ground and stamping on them. The West is like two forms higher, the big kids, they have the ability to stop the bully but they stand around watching, shouting “stop it, that’s naughty” but not really wanting to get their hands dirty

Simple give Ukraine planes, they’ll have more than enough mercenaries willing to fly them

To me and thankfully I have no family involved in this and so my sympathy to those who have. The sanctions are working and strangling the Russian economy. It won't bring about a resolution as quickly as a direct engagement between Russia and NATO but it will overall be less damaging. Russia is being taught a lesson in that when it plays in the big boys game of world economics it is a bit part player and the levers are not controlled by them, its economy is similar in size to Spains (GDP). There aren't many end games in this that look good for Putin. He has already said that sanctions are tantamount to a declaration of war, he has cut off all outside media, but then so have we, his troops don't seem to progressing as quickly as expected and he appears to be facing increasing unrest at home. The sanctions will be affecting the Oligarchs who have great self interest in returning Russia to the pre-invasion financial system and so continuing to make their billions. Putins pride seems to be the main reason this is still going on and hopefully because of a popular uprising, pressure from the Oligarchs or both he will be made to stop.

Supplying weapons from the West is going to aggravate Putin as they are better than his, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. Planes from the West could be supplied but they will need a very good rebranding/ paint jobs done on them and again if they are NATO type planes munitions will have to be made available. If they are ex-soviet planes from Poland etc then perhaps Ukraine already has munitions and importantly spare parts but have they got any operating runways? To me air defence missile systems and perhaps drones are the best things to be supplied. All this has to be done at arms length or he could open up a bigger Europe/ World wide war as this is one of Putins best face saving options.

Did the sanctions work against Ukraine when they were attacking Donetsk and luhansk in the Eastern Region, or the sanctions against Britain and the USA when they were bombing the **** out of Iraq, Syria Afghanistan etc killing millions of innocent people including women and children?
