Thanks. I haven't read every word, but have taken a decent skim read. Regarding the Airco, I see how the Allam's got away with it with a mix of 'technicalities', stretches and lies. Most striking lie being that it would only be needed for approx 18 months, until a new indoor facility was established at BB. That was due 5 or so years ago. What the Allams did quite clearly goes against the spirit or intention of HCC when they provided the facility to 'the community'. You could say that it's HCC's fault for not being even more specific in the lease, but I guess they didn't foresee the arrival of the Allams (but probably should have done, considering some of the previous owners we've had). Best way of summing it up would be to use Ehab's infamous words .... "doing what is morally right ..... for me". I just hope, and believe, that Acun and his team will move forward doing what is 'morally right' for Hull & ER, not just for them.
That's fine but what about the all ongoing expense of maintaining the stadium etc. Apologies. I have read all the replies now
I got bored so read every word and to be honest it suited them to change the floor for the football club , which the rugby club could use also in winter if they wanted. It did spoil it for a couple of clubs at short notice which was unfair but made it useable for other sports . As the docs say the building wasn’t profitable at all only the outdoor facilities . Adam had the SMC originally didn’t he , he could have done the same too but I guess he saw it was a loss maker . HCC have sold off and discontinued so many play areas and soccer pitches and other facilities in the City without replacement provision , they are no better. Where the Allams let everyone down was not building the indoor facility for the academy in the 5 years due to either greed , no intention, or reduced income, I am sure many will pick no1 reason Trouble with accounting it can be very creative. As the barrister says the orinal rules conditions were not watertight but we’re ‘of the time’ and situation , situations change and so do sports needs as they have stated
news from transfermarkt https://www.transfermarkt.com.tr/acun-ilıcalı-fenerbahceye-rakip-oluyor-/view/news/400973 There will be a pre-season friendly match against Fenerbahçe in İstanbul
Hull KR already had a ground for which they paid a peppercorn rent on Greatfield. I always think of Craven Park as on Holderness Road, showing my age.
Sorry, Hull FC are allowed to file a abridged summary of their accounts. Basically just their balance sheet. There is insufficient information to work out how much they pay in rent. An interesting question could be what happens to the lease between the Council and the SMC if Hull FC move out. If the lease is terminated Hull City could end up negotiating a rent with Hull City Council which covers the costs of maintaining the stadium and gives us council tax payers a return for our initial investment.
Anyone heard anything of the make up of the consortium/backers behind City? Heard interesting rumours from a very reliable source today.
Apparently from Acun himself (and the source would be silly to lie in his role and has proved to be reliable previously). Three way split between Acun/ Ozil/Turkey biscuit tycoon (who is also involved with Fenerbahçe too). Also taking about three way splits, our preseason tour will involve a round robin involving ourselves, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Cue Simon Gray chartering a plane Humberside to Istanbul. You heard it here first.
Wouldn’t get on that plane and can you imagine the pilots face when he receives the collection for the driver in a Tesco carrier bag.
Interesting, Acun has so far been very guarded and quiet about the details on the financial side. If he's opening up to others now then hopefully he will do a full interview The pre season stuff isn't fully confirmed yet but what you've said is the plan
Not disputing what you’ve said, but a pre season friendly between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce seems a bit unlikely, so maybe not a full round robin?
Askew called the Savile situ way before the story broke. The man has the ear of kings, and vice versa and stuff.
