Not sure business sense applies, the principle is if I rent half the warehouse and you do the other half but I’m more profitable with my business , why should I pay more than you for the same space . But if I can help you do better somehow i might , mind you why should I . Most Hull fans I know don’t actually give a toss about City totally indifferent and loved taking the piss when we were suffering . Eff’ em
If I could afford to pay the rent on my own, I’d tell the roommate to get to **** if he can’t cough up half. There’s no reason why we should be subsidising FC’s use of the stadium.
As far as I’m aware Hull FC don’t dislike or ‘talk ****’ about City, although I’m happy for that to be proven otherwise, I’m afraid that you’ll probably find that those things only apply to a small minority of people, but carry on anyway.
Apart from cutting our nose off to spite our face financially. Obvs they can't expect equal privilege if they're paying less but it would be interesting to see what the landlord would have to say if we kicked them out. They'll do a deal. And rightly so.
That's interesting considering Acun a couple of weeks ago stated "we should rent the stadium and buy players" Can see how it might be a sweet way of HCC giving the Allams the finger mind.... I wonder if a deal to sell the stadium to the SMC would see AP take a shareholding in the SMC....
Second meeting next week at Guildhall ? Wouldn't have thought it's just for a guided tour of the Mayors Chambers ?
The council get no rent for the stadium, the SMC get it rent free, so FC moving out would have no effect on the lease as far as the council are concerned.
Its not the rent that is the problem. Its the running and maintenance costs and who picks up the tab for them that is causing concerns.
A friend of mine was involved with FC years ago. The council have plans locked away should either of the clubs leave the stadium. The plans were drawn up years ago and can be rolled out when needed. If I remember correctly, because Hull FC must be based in the West Hull area various sites were confirmed in principle back in the day - one of which I was told is Costello. I imagine those plans are still live and under lock and key.
They show any riff-raff round, some even get afternoon tea with the Lord Mayor, I enjoyed the sandwiches!
Interesting, so are City getting a good deal here? Are the Council responsible for repairs or is it the SMC?
So it’s probably wiser for the SMC to talk to Hull FC in order to keep a second income stream coming into the stadium upkeep rather than just throw your emotional toys out of the pram like some in this thread?
