Good Morning. It's Wednesday 2nd March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Burnley loss takes immediate pressure off Marsch Leicester City left it late last night, before grabbing all three points at Turf Moor. Up until yesterday, the East Midlands Club had not won a Premier League fixture in 2022. Whilst Leeds fans would not have wanted to see the Foxes gather momentum ahead of Saturday's clash, the immediate danger of Sean Dyche re-writing the great escape was more of a concern! Seven points from three games had propelled Burnley to within touching distance of the Whites. A win last night would have seen them leapfrog Leeds, who would drop to within a point of the bottom three, with Everton still having two games in hand. Cornet (Burnley) had a goal chalked off in the first half. Replays showed that although the decision was the right one, the margin of error was miniscule. Leicester took the lead on 82 mins in a cruel twist of fate. Casper Schmeichel came 30 yards off his line to clear the ball up field after Jay Rodriguez broke free of the Leicester defence. The ball fell kindly to Vardy, who combined well Maddison to open the scoring. Vardy grabbed a second in injury time as the Clarets went in search of an equiliser. Ferdinand reacts in horror to 'Big Sam' claim Rio Ferdinand reacted in disbelief after hearing that both Andy Gray and Richards Keys had suggested that Sam Allardyce would have been the perfect replacement for Marcelo Bielsa. The former England gaffer has been out of work since quitting as Baggies Manager at the end of last season. According to the former Soccer Saturday double act, Big Sam would have been the perfect Manager for a relegation dog fight. Speaking on Vibe at five, Ferdinand was astonished, and gave a short, but clear response:- “Is that what they (Keys and Gray) said?” “You can’t go from Bielsa to Big Sam. No! please log in to view this image Quartet leave Elland Road Diego Reyes, Pablo Quiroga, Luis Ouvina and fitness coach Benoit Delaval have all departed from Elland Road following the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa. The quartet were bought in specifically by Marcelo Bielsa, having worked with the Argentine during previous campaigns. Head of Analysis Guillermo Alonso and goalkeeper coach Marcos Abad, both of whom worked with Director of Football Victor Orta at Middlesbrough are expected to stay. It is not known whether Cameron Toshack has started in his new Assistant Manager's role yet as his dad John, is in hospital with Covid.
Morning all For the last few days there have been stories about Kinnear resigning. Apparently he didnt agree with sacking Bielsa yada yada yada. It does seem however that there is no smoke without fire as I believeKinnear will leave the club in the summer. However this will be part of a planned transition from Radz to 49ers. When 49ers take over they have plans for stadium redevelopment and will have no need for Kinnear as his job will be complete and he will walk into another top football job with ease due to his experience at Arsenal and moving/selling Highbury and opening Emirates Stadium. Then sorting out WHU sale Upton Park and doing the deal for the London Stadium, and now Leeds. 49ers have the people plus the building skills and knowhow with the Aussie
Let's see what happens in the remaining 12 matches first Doc. The new coach looks more like a high school teacher every time I see him and if he falls flat on his face then the yanks will have massive problems to solve.
I see the so-called Leeds expert Phil Hay is back into sticking the knife into Biesas back again. He says JM has changed training to ensure fewer injuries, what a lying cutn. Rob Price said recently that the injuries were not caused by training methods as he himself devised each players routine with Bielsa 80% came from tissue damage in matches from kicks, 7% were caused by slips and strains in matches like Bamfords goal celebration. Hay is a chancer who makes shyt up and hes really a Hearts fan anyway
There is a strong rumour just surfaced that both Orta and Kinnear will both be leaving at the end of the season as the 49ers want to bring their own people in. More to come.....
I think the goalkeeping coach should do one, Meslier needs to start commanding his 6 yd box and work on his distribution. Hope our CB’s go back to zonal marking and not running all over the pitch. Still cannot get around Philips and Cooper in Dubai playing golf when injured, am I missing something? Usually when a team employs a new coach the players step up and give that bit extra, just hope so on Saturday and we beat Festa.
Kinnear nothing to say about but Orta oh yes please i want him gone. He is just a chancer who got rads ear and fooled him.
I know we have people on here who hate Orta but there is a long list if clubs who want to employ him, because of the job hes done at Leeds.
I dont know about my fellow posters but all this talk at the moment seems irrelevant when I think of the atrocities that Putin is making the poor people suffer in the Ukraine its hardly a good morning for them bit good morning from a damp Bardsey
Is the fat kev case not due for judgment this month?. Let's see the outcome of that before saying orta did a good job.
Seems the Leeds board of directors will have a daily reminder that Bielsa was well loved by most. The Peacock is now called Bielsa
Afternoon all Mixed bag for me regarding Orta. I don’t know how much of the success was down to Bielsa, I don’t know how many gems he found like Maxwell Cornet and Noa Lang who would might have flourished but Bielsa said no. Since Bielsa arrived Orta was working to a set of attributes laid down by Bielsa so very hard to judge. If the 49ers want him out assuming we’re in the PL next season then we can ignore the usual transfer rumour gossip
If true that Orta is going, then I assume JM has his own data analysts and scouts who understand his requirements, needs. Fair enough but remember Orta is director of football, the yanks like sporting director and in the case of Red Bull a group sports director. Ralf Rangnik was that for all of RB. Is this part of the 49ers plan?
The Peacock is part of our heritage this is a travesty. If anything they could have called it the Gobshyte hotel.
Historically Marsch goes man to man in defence. He is also renowned for his teams unable to defend corners. Sorry.
