Non-fungible token. Basically, you own the digital rights to an image or gif and ownership or proof of authenticity is based on unique codes and metadata in the image or gif. Supposedly, this means they can’t be duplicated. It is utter bollocks and meaningless. So what if you own the digital rights to it? Anyone can still copy and paste the image or gif.
NFT supporters say they’re like original work of arts. If you own an NFT created by someone and can verify its authenticity, it’s the digital equivalent of owning the original Mona Lisa or Last Supper.
There's also the suggestion that in future people would have to pay you the rights to use the image, so it's not as ridiculous as it sounds, but at the moment it absolutely is.
Interesting to see that Acun specifically used the phrase " we will sign a striker based on data". or words to that effect. Here is an article thats worth a read about the increasing use of data sceintists to research transfer targets and other stuff. Its by Rory Smith a very good soccer writer in the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/24/sports/soccer/data-analysis.html

Hull City chief opens up on Hull FC relationship and new SMC contract Exclusive: City hope to establish positive working relationship with Hull FC following recent takeover Hull City vice-chairman Tan Kesler says he and new Tigers owner Acun Ilicali are looking forward to striking up a positive working relationship with Hull FC, as the two clubs continue to share the MKM Stadium. It was well-documented that FC owner Adam Pearson endured a difficult relationship with the Allam family during their running of the MKM Stadium through the Stadium Management Company, clashing numerous times over a variety of issues. In what was deemed a positive step forward, <BEFORE THE ACTUAL GAME!!> Pearson was a guest of Ilicali for last Tuesday night’s 2-0 home defeat to Barnsley in the Championship. Get the latest Hull City breaking news, features and analysis here Pearson is hoping to renegotiate the terms of FC’s lease on the MKM Stadium which has just six years to run, and Kesler says City are keen to help the Super League club become more profitable and sustainable in the weeks and years to come, to enable the two entities to coexist successfully. “We reached out to Adam Pearson and we tried to come up with something that doesn’t see us continue to subsidise or run somebody’s business,” Kesler told Hull Live. “We become more like partners, where we fulfil supporters’ expectations. “Previously, the relationship between the previous owners and the rugby club was not good so we’ve tried to fix that, and we want the rugby fans to be more comfortable and confident. “As the new ownership and new era, we are not keen on spending money on somebody else’s business, spending on resources of something else. “We will help them to become more competitive in the business aspect, but we will not pay the bills for everybody else.”
We reached out to Adam Pearson and we tried to come up with something that doesn’t see us continue to subsidise or run somebody’s business,” Hmmmm and I thought the Allams lied about this give em **** all and get them out
I doubt we'd have the size of stadium we do if it wasn't for Hull FC being there in the first place It'd have been a tricky job for the Council to justify the same expense for one club.
I don't know what the problems are, but, FC should pay their way and whilst I understand that times have been difficult, they have been for both clubs. Lets hope that whatever the outcome, both sides are happy.
I've been saying for long enough on here that City/SMC/Allams were subsidising Hull FC and no-one believed me.
