It is just the tactics I would use as a field commander

The first tactic for professional soldiers as it limits their ability to manoeuvre

The second one against inexperienced conscript soldiers because I know I would be scared ****less seeing that coming down the road towards me

we used stuff like inflatable tanks etc at various times and places during WW2

wouldn't bother with the original as it is quite dry and technical and since basically all the equipment is different not relevant these days. The later version is more of a "read" as it uses character accounts to make it more human and some of the military traits would hold true today i.e. the idea Russian military believe nukes are just another weapon which can be used so the outdated weaponry problem isn't quite so marked .

There are also unconfirmed reports that the Carribean island of St Kitts and Nevis was nuked in the early hours of the morning because brb didn't recognise their name and thought it was Putin trying to get back into the UN under a false name.
